How in the world is he supposed to respond for all 50 states, with all their variations and possibilities? Each state has its own population centers and issues. For instance New York City with its density, international travelers, etc. makes that city a place where it was impossible to avoid contact, since you can't have a social distance of more than 2 feet most places. But In most cases CA appears to be doing better, with the exception of maybe San Francisco where groups of men were still out drinking...
Please explain what you think his 'complete lack of a response' was ?
Even Gov. Newsome in CA said the President said and did all the right things !

I happened to be thinking about the constitution, and I read this:

"When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total," Trump said at the White House. "The governors know that."

I hope the next president has at least read the constitution.

I hope the next president has at least read the constitution.
And I hope it will still be President Trump

It amazes me how someone can be for the constitution and for President Trump. They're mutually exclusive. Time and energy spent keeping the President under control can be put to better use.

That's just your opinion . As for as I'm concerned the democrats and their attempted coup and impeachment BS was a total waste of time and tax payer money . If they'd have listened instead of contradict every thing he said or did we'd be better off . JMO President Trump warned us about China , the virus , and China's trade dealings . All dems did was call him a racist xenophobe and fight him every step of the way .

Amen to Mike Galway. This is a National Energency, not a state one. And no democrat in recent history or any of them running in the primaries, cares anything about what our Constitution says, their oath of office to "Protect & Defend agianst all enemies, both foreign an domestic", and/or our Bill of Rights, 1st, 2nd, and the right to peacefully assemble mean. Except they DO know THEY have the right to say anything they want, but not the rest of us. Nancy cannot even read his State of the Union without going crazy and fallling to pieces. Illegal immigration, killing babies, marriage is annything and anybody now, and not even knowing if you are male or female ? These are now 'right' according to the liberals and socialists who are tearing America apart and fiddling while 'Rome' burns! And Worse, the expect us to pay for Their insanity !
Go reread the Declaration of Independence about what a Gov't should NOT do, then reread the Whole US Constitution And Bill of Rights again and explain how & why Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, are following them!

You put :
"Take the guns first, due process second."
in quotes. Who are you quoting?

I'm sure you meant 'Our' President... you know the President who showed up at annual NRA Meetings to support our 2A rights !!!

You really know how to take a quote out of context, completely twisting the intent.

Trump was talking about - The 'suspected' Florida school shooter (verified by multiple witnesses, on camera, AND confessed muderer), Nikolas Cruz, who was able to legally purchase the AR-15 'reportedly' used (it was used) in the shooting, that left 17 people dead, despite numerous calls to law enforcement about his unstable behavior.
With that many witnesses who heard him 1st hand, his weapons should have been taken! And he still would get his day in court... However, education officials, mental health and/or law enforcement did not do their job as well as we would have wanted!!!

What else do we know:
"Cruz told investigators, voices in his head – described as "demons" – told him what to do, according to police sources quoted by ABC.
In May 2018, videos emerged in which Cruz recorded himself declaring his intentions to be "the next school shooter of 2018" with the target of killing at least 20 people using an AR-15.
He says to camera: "You're all going to die, pew, pew, pew. Can't wait."
It was also revealed that cops were called to Cruz's family home in Parkland a total of 39 times since 2010, CNN reported... "

Later, President Donald Trump told Parkland shooting survivors he would consider allowing teachers to be armed in order to prevent more mass shootings.

FLORIDA is the latest state to allow school teachers to be armed with guns to take on active shooters during emergency situations.

This is something Trump also supported, so of course, Michael Bloomberg, George Soros, the mainstream media, Nancy Pelosi, and socialists everywhere (but I repeat myself..) went into full cardiac arrest and howled like mad dogs with rabies...

He was talking about anyone in that position. Or anyone who appears to be in that position. He wasn't talking about one shooter, or one person.

"Take the guns first, go through due process second," Trump said.

Trump was responding to comments from Vice President Pence that families and local law enforcement should have more tools to report potentially dangerous individuals with weapons.

"Allow due process so no one's rights are trampled, but the ability to go to court, obtain an order and then collect not only the firearms but any weapons," Pence said.

"Or, Mike, take the firearms first, and then go to court," Trump responded.

He was talking about red flag laws, and what he believes should happen when someone is talking to angels: take their guns, then go to court.

He was demonstrating, again, a complete lack of understanding of how our country works.

There ARE people who shouldn't have guns. But they have rights. Just like you and I, and those rights should only be taken away by due process.

Demons are not angels, but they are demons, rebellious angels!
Pence and Trump were talking about the Florida shooting. And due process would have been served if officials had done a better job. What would you have said if 17 people were dead? Maybe a wee bit frustrated? Or it's ok, at least he still had his right to freedom? Now it makes sense that you think illegal aliens, should have sanctuary. That is how our country is supposed to work? NOT !!!

There is no way this guy should have been able to still have weapons. But I guess you are arguing that is ok with 17 dead, because due process didn't work, but was incomplete, so he still had the 'right' to buy an AR-15. Only after he murdered the 17 innocent people should be lose his rights. With due diligence, his rights should have been suspended under a proper and thorough due process - which did not occur. So don't try to blame that on Trump. You would be mad too if they had been 17 of your friends or family!
Your logic is flawed about WHEN due process should have suspended his rights!

I'm all done following your thread you started...
