Because you can zero at 50 yds and it will also be zeroed for 200

Also, due to the distance we don't get to shoot at locally any more everything is 100yds and in typically

200/50 or 300/25 are the most popular. Both work equally well.

What optic are you running. Most BDC reticles work with a 100 yard zero depending on your Ammo.

Read your manual. The JM reticle calls for a 200 yard zero. If you have the distance zero the first hash at 300 then shoot the crosshairs at 100 & 200 and preferably 400, 500, 600 to see where it's hitting at those distances.

I've zeroed at at 100-200 before and been a little off and that little turns into a lot at 600 yards.

I use 200. I am about 1/2" low at 50 allowing me to use a center hold on most any 3gun size targets and get hits from about 25yrds to 275ish then start using the reticle for longer distances

And I also use the razor with JM reticle. Honestly haven't had time or a decent day to check to 400+ very well but at a club match I shoot regulary I hit a 300yrd target about everytime first shot using the 300 hash mark. I have hit steel pigs at our range consistanly at 440yrd holding on low body about shoulder height with 400 mark. No matches around here go past 300 so haven't really needed to get that far out yet.

Put your load data into a ballistic calculator like Strelok, to see what works best for your reticle. Even if you don't normally shoot past say 200 yds.
IF you do go to a match with longer distances (like ours for instance) you will have a decent shot at getting hits at 600.

You'd be surprised at how many shooters come to a match with 600 yds targets , who have not zeroed/shot their rifle past 100 yds, quite a few are in the "not over 50 yds" category.
