Schools nowadays

PanhandelerFL, I want to be that guy, I really do. I'm laid back, do my own stuff and really don't care what anyone else does, until what they do has an impact on my life, my country, my family. Thats where I draw the line. I don't understand so very much these days, but can't comprehend why one would immigrate (legally or not) to a country that is so evil? If your way is so much better than ours, just stay home!! Pretty simple. I hope you don't take my thoughts wrong, you've got it figured out, I don't. I wish it didn't bother me, but it does.

I would never take your thoughts wrong, honest straight talk is all any person needs from another. You give me to much credit for figuring anything out, I'm a work in progress...just like roads being "fixed" around here my progress may take another decade or so. lol

CECannon, in no way did I mean to come across as having a blueprint anyone else should follow (Lord knows I almost never get it right the first time). We all must follow our own paths, in my case I have changed strategy from a militant path to one more suited to guy heading towards the sunset more than coming in up in the sunrise. I volunteer for very local R politicians...city council, district reps, the small movers and shakers who control only small areas but can make life miserable for opponent sides. I get I'm one vote for Congress/Senators/Presidents...but local politics sometimes plays its role affecting the National moves politicians may make. Sheriff's who refuse to follow bad mandates such as creating sanctuary cities, city councils who refuse to budge on leftist demands and so on. Little bites...like "shopping local" in politics and trying to shore up the big boys support system at home. Sorry if I came across as some old warhorse put to pasture, I should have explained better. I'm now that annoying person knocking on your door at dinner asking for a second of your time to discuss why you should vote for my folks. I've used the saying "You be You," I wish that upon you all...You Be YOU! I'm just happy to be among such as all of You!

Hello buddy. I did not take what you said in a bad way. I respect you and if anything, I'm a bit envious. Maybe I came across wrong? I'm simply saying that some, like me, don't have the fortitude to look at things as you describe. If I could find a way to truly live my life without worrying about the Godless scoundrels now in position to damage our nation greatly, my wife would think I had bumped my head and need medical attention. You did not say anything wrong or offensive in any way.....not even close!

Just watched a history documentary last night. The schools nowadays are modeled just like the Hitler Youth movement. There even taught to rat out their parents. Just like now. And were paying them to do it. From the 1st grade through collage. Makes my blood boil.

I remember reading about the mid 1800's how bad teachers getting horse whipped for teaching the wrong things.. Maybe the old days weren't so bad after all.

That's why so many people are home schooling...the pubic yes pubic school system is an expensive joke...concur with the blood boiling...we surpassed the hitler youth program...hilter lower case on purpose.

All too true. But, before all hope is lost, consider Hillsdale College in SW Michigan. In existence since 1844, Hillsdale insists on truth, ethics, the Constitution and accepts not a penny of aid from any government source. Graduates are required to have taken and passed courses in the Constitution and courses such as "Ethics in Government" and "Ethics in Business" are taught. Of particular interest to the patriots who comprise this forum is the existence of a very large, finely equipped Shooting Sports fieldhouse on the Hillsdale campus and the encouragement of marksmanship and competitive shooting among Hillsdale's students.
Half my estate goes to Hillsdale on my passing, putting my money where my mouth is for the good of our nation.

It's happening now from preschool through college. Schools are nothing but indoctrination centers. I hire a few young people straight out of high school at work, and most of them are dumb as a brick. I hate to put it that way, but it's just the truth. They can't write a coherent sentence. They can operate that damn phone though. On the other hand, I hired a young man that was home schooled. He's as sharp as a tack and will probably replace me as the manager when I retire. Young people like him are rare now.

My wife and I are thankful to God that our 1 child is grown. She is also a cancer survivor and was left unable to have children after that harrowing experience. I'm sure that took some years off my life. I also made a bad mistake and got very angry with God for a while. Don't ever do that. Things can go downhill for you very quickly. Thankfully, I was snatched back before going over the proverbial cliff. My relationship with God is much better now.

The lack of Grandchildren appears to be a blessing now. Who really wants to bring a child into this world with the way things are going? I'm just thankful that I still have my daughter and a wonderful son in law. Parents should always die before their children. I hope I do. I don't ever want to experience the loss of my child.

Its great your daughter is still will you.
I'm also bless to have had a son who survived cancer and is doing great.
As far as schooling is concerned, it's up to us to step in. I have 5 children the youngest is 34 now. My daughter and granddaughter live with us. My granddaughter is 12 now and has lived with us from day one. She shoots pistol , rifle and shotgun. She belongs to a jr shooting club. Love archery and horseback riding,she knows how to use tools . She can cook and knows how to do the laundry. Her grades in school are great. She's respectful, I would do anything for her. She does enjoy her phone and the internet but I'm pretty sure she'd rather be on a horse or shooting her recurve.It's up to us to teach them the way.

This topic hit a nerve. I have the same feelings as many have expressed here. The worst are the demo socialist in the house. 2 of them were not even borne here and got elected to the House. All they do is bad mouth this Country and use hate speech to rile people up. I to have stopped watching the news, I watch a few minutes to keep up on local goings on, but as soon as they move to anything related to politics I change the channel. I can't be bothered listening to either side any more. The left spews lies after lies. The right is nothing but doom and gloom. To quote a famous line from a movie "I'm too old for this S--t". I have accepted that this once Great Country will never be what it was when we grew up. I'm embarrassed to say that, but I can't see anything good happening in what time I have left. All of my sons (4) are grown with kids of their own. They either send the kids to a private school or home school them. I find my spaces like this one and it gives me a chance to be around like minded folks for awhile. Thank You all for that. Peace.
