Saw A Benelli Slam Fire

Without going into detail?? Okeedokee! The pivot point is in the wrong place. The sear and the disconector relies on that geometry, amount of engagement at that geometry and that amount of travel to work right/safely.

Not true amigo, I just happen to have a few years of working on them is all...like 21 years. Without a complete redesign of the entire trigger system they are what they are. It is a shame too. I can get FNs and Mossys down around 2.5-3# but Benelli is what it is.

That is a bummer. The factory triggers in the guns I don't shoot feel way better. I guess we can hope the future M5 field has a better trigger if they ever upgrade the M2.

My Salient M2 has a nice trigger. It's not 2.5lbs but it is crisp. I hope it doesn't fail like that on me at a match.

Good news Dave, Salient just played with spring weight, not sear angle/engagement. They are more prone to over running the trigger and getting a click, and some times light strikes, bit it wont "slam fire"

What is your take on those spring rate changes Kurt? Is it worth clipping some coils?

Hmmm I originally said leave them alone, but the more I think about it i say LEAVE THEM ALONE! As fast as you are on the trigger Jessie, you would end up over running it more often than most. I know Pat had to re-do his Salient because of it.

If you are really interested in this, just swing by and I am happy to go over all of it with you. I might even have a Benelli that we can look at. I would also like to see what was done to your M1....although I have a pretty good idea.

So Kurt, on my Benelli M2, sometimes when I pull the trigger a shell kicks out onto the lifter, when I rack the bolt a live shell flings out. What causes this and how can I fix it? It cost me at least 5 dove this year. I am shooing Federal bulk pack from Walmart. 7.5's.

I was trying to help a shooter at the Pro-Am with a Benelli problem, when he said he needed to find Jessie because No one knew more about how to make Benellis run than Jessie because he had read all of his posts about Benellis. So I would use that knowledge and ask Jessie. It doesn't have a trigger job does it?

If his question was which stock looks better or sticker size fits best on the tube then I'm your man. About the only technical advice I can give at this point is which chokes fit what and how long you should cut your mag tube spring.

I was asking you. But if Jesse wants to help me instead then ok.

I do not think it has a trigger job.

Listen to Mr. Modest! You have built ARs, done Glock trigger work, and modified just about all your gear. You have installed J.P. parts, Nordic stuff etc. I think you are down playing what you can do

Every time I see an AR pistol grip without a couple of .5" holes drilled in it, I think, "Jesse could make that gun faster."

:)

Out of battery?
