All depends on condition. You are talking about a Model 14 K-38 Masterpiece correct? 6" barrel partridge front sight?
If so, the market is around $500+. S&W wheel guns in the older, pre-lock, pre-MIM models aren't getting any cheaper, that's for sure. The older it is, the more it's worth.
ETA: If it's the Model 15, Combat Masterpiece they are considerably cheaper. Why I don't know, probably because there a zillions of them out there.

Kinda depends on "exactly" what it is. What's know as the "K frame" Smith and Wesson has been evolving since the late 1890's.
There are a bunch of models (10, 12, 13, 14 , 15, etc) and most were made with variations. A "beater" Model 10 from the 70's may be worth $300.... a early K38 will be worth a lot more.......

Just paid $1025.00 for a Model 13............................It's a PPC gun built by Clark Custom though.
