So, yesterday I found a S&W model 10 at a Pawn shop for 250.00. The thing is in great shape...except the previous owner left it in a leather holster for about the last 25 years (I'm kinda making that up, but the holster strikes me as very 70's or 80's).
Anyway, the gun has small corrosion spots on the blueing and I don't know what to do. At first, I thought about having East Coast just sandblast the thing and duracoat it, but 95% of the finish is perfect, and I bought more than just a nice shooter possibly.
So, how does one handle the rust spots and restore the gun without a "nuke and pave" mentality ?
