This list may change as time goes by as the law is very new. Some restaurants may 'switch sides' as time goes by.

Athens on James Island does not prohibit carry. There is no sign (yet).

No restaurant in South Carolina prohibits concealed carry nor any other Civil Right. Anything they say or advertise is irrelevant and doesn't have weight of law in precluding on you disregarding their fantasy / Christmas Wish that customers don't have gun(s) or other weapon(s) on their person.

i have carried in three restaurants so far on hilton head island and have met 0% resistence. :D

If a restaurant discovers that you are carrying a gun, or any other reason not expressly protected against discrimination, the restaurant can refuse to serve you and can demand that you leave. If you fail to leave you are now, finally, committing a criminal offense: trespassing. And that criminal offense, trespassing, would be invoked whether or not you had a gun or had a loud voice or a giant swastika tattoo on your forehead. The gun is irrelevant, just like the signs "prohibiting" them.
