Removing camo coating on a shotgun barrel

Is it possible to remove camo coating from a shotgun barrel without destroying the barrel? I am talking specifically about a Benelli M1/M2 barrel with the factory camo coating. If it is possible how difficult is it and do I need specialized tools?

Yes it can be done. You can either soak it in acetone to loosen up the film that's on it or try to peel it off.
Not easy but can be done.

Or you can slap on an Accurate Iron sticker and call it custom.
