I got a 20" Remington 870 12g Special Purpose and wanting to stick a +3 extension tube and a tube clamp with a picatinny rail. Is Nordic Components the way to go on this, or are there better alternatives. I'm going to be using this as a duty weapon and don't really want to skimp on the components. :)

Nordic is the best I've used. They're quality in my book.
I agree with Matt but unfortunately, Nordic is currently not shipping any Mag Tube Ext. for the 870/1100/1187.
They're in the process of redesigning their mag tube nut for those guns (same nut).
There's no est. of when they'll get this completed & start shipping tubes for these guns again.

Damn, what do you recommend as an alternative? The Remington brand tubes OK? That look decent enough, but I've never looked at them before so I wouldn't know good from bad.

Surely there is a retailer that has a current design Nordic tube in stock. I had one on my 870 and I am not sure where they would go for an upgrade on these things.

The DMW are nice tubes but they are all steel. Load them up with ammo and they get heavy quick.

I've got a: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/842394/tacstar-magazine-tube-extension-remington-870-1100-11-87-12-gauge-3-round-parkerized

used with a new spring that will need cut to length. Shoot me a PM. The reviews dont like it becuase the finish isn't perfect. For me I couldn't care less when I'm dropping it in a barrel/table/trunk.

It's a solid one piece design, that I actually prefer over the Nordic.

Dude!

Tacstar and duty weapon don't mix. I won one of those once and the spring that came with it was too short and it wouldn't feed ammo into my gun.

Another option for that 870 is the RCI fully integrated tube with the pics tinny rails on it.

Marks a good guy and a friend of mine from the Mother Land, WI. Tell him you heard about his tube on the forum please.

Yeah the stock spring is kinda short. This is a new one that is ~12" too long. So you have to trim too length.
