Sooner state pawn has a used 11-87 sportsman for not much money. If a guy can get it bought right will they do? Money better spent elsewhere?

I'm not gonna say no but I will say don't rush into anything :-[ look at what you see at 3-gun matches and shotgun matches, what did you see this weekend at the 3-gun shoot? relax I'm sure you'll find folks to let you use some shotguns to see what works for ya. This is a damn fine group of folks that want to enjoy shooting and everyone else enjoy as well.

Don't rush or you'll be like me and end up changing things around 6-8 months later. Later,

Kirk

Short answer is yes and yes. I have an 1100 tactical that I bought for super cheap and honestly I like it better than the Bennelli M2 that I had but for the small amount of 3g I do it will serve me fine. The difference is going to be how reliable a M2 (or similar) is over the long haul compared to the Remington products, cause you will be putting as many shells though a 3g season as a hunting sg gets in a lifetime. Watch the 3g guys and see what they use, they use them for a reason, because they work,

Wes

Yes sir. Does that mean your offering up one of them czs!! Your right great bunch of guys. Looking forward to the June shoot!

I'll let ya run one! doubt you'll be shooting 3-gun in June unless I'm mistaken the High Plains shotgun shoot will be taking it's place, I've got to check my calendar so don't take my word to the bank. Later,

Kirk

From the High Plains Thread

The dates for High Plains Shotgun Challenge (HPSC), which will once again be held in OK. are June 23-24, with the RO's shooting on the 22nd and set up taking place on the 21st.
An application will be placed on the website soon, please do not use the one from last year. Entry will be 100.00
We will be using the current IPSC rules, as many of us will be planning on making the first ever World Practical Shotgun match in Hungary later that year. Please make sure and look at the "new" rules as there have been some changes made that affect all divisions.
We are planning on 12-15 stages, and they will all be IPSC type stages, although maybe with a bit higher round count, and a few less short courses.
RNT, will be raffling off a complete race ready Benelli Nova Shotgun, with all the mods used by RNT including the stroke modifications. I'll post a pic of an example as soon as I have one. A limited amount of tickets will be used, at 10.00 each once the tickets are gone thats it, we hope to be able to offer the shotgun up at the match. If you are interested look Kurt or Trapr up at any match we are at. You will not need to be present to win, but shipping will be on you if you are not in the country or on the planet.

The OKC gun club website is slow it will get updated once we all start asking if there is a match which there won't be because the high plains match will take up most of the bays and all of the manpower.

As far as you're 11-87 goes Ive never shot one nor seen one at a 3 gun match. Anything will work you just have to ask yourself if you mind malfunctions and spending $80 for a mag tube extension and one of those loading gate buttons for a gun that is best suited for the intended use.

I started out with an 1187. It was great for what I was shooting at the time, 2-3 local matches a year. When I decided to start shooting more , I just could not load fast with it. Ended up with a Benelli and could not be happier.

What is this?

So it looks like the rem is out. With my funds looking like its going to be the cz. I think the moss 935 jm could have some potential. All the places I've looked they're + - 600 But i haven't found one for sale their all BO. Kirk you would be the one to ask can you trick out a cz for 600 bones?

Before you go off and buy a Mossberg go check out the CZ Funtime thread and listen to the end of the video, the dude talking has a little idea about shotguns. I've never put a pen to paper yet on the CZ but I'll see if I can't figure something out and let ya know. Don't get in any hurry trust me you'll spend more money if ya rush! most of us on the board can verify that LOL Later,

Kirk

I have a Mossberg 930 that me and Kirk worked on and I love it but, on the other hand Kirk's CZ is a lot lighter and easier to handle. All I can say is you are more welcome to shoot mine and I am pretty sure Kirk will let you shoot his also. Then you can compare them both and save your money to buy whatever you would be more happy with! PM me and, I will see if we can all meet up and see who's is bigger. :hunter:
