Been trying to get out and test my DW VBOB 10 since I got her back from the mothership last week. I sent her back for some tuning because the slide stop would not drop on its own.

I have a couple of 500 rnd ammo boxes of LAX 180 grn that would be perfect for some range work.

I shoot steel plates hanging from some Lowes Shepards Hooks. Instant gratification, don't ya know.

I took my folding shooters bench and some bags just to take my old azz out of the equation.

The 1st shot from 10 yrds.
I should've done a mic drop at that point cuz it wouldn't get any better. :p

Kept shootin and put 100 rnds downrange with the VBOB. She's barley broke in with a rnd count of 400 now.

The LAX ammo runs pretty clean, but is about 200 fps slower than my normal Magtech.

100 rnds

Then it was time for the long gun.
Brought my Marlin 336 to knock off the dust and make the 'ol girl feel loved.

I have a Cabelas house brand 3 x 9 scope with some high rise see through mounts on her. She was nailin the steel at 50 yrd free hand. Not far to be sure, but good for me.
After a couple of shots with the scope, I went to the sight through with the open stock sights.
Out of a box of 20 basic 30-30, I hit 16 / 20.
I'm happy with that since its been over a yr since I've shot that rifle.

A recent new/old acquisition to the .22 Conversion Unit stable. This is a older Marvel Precision Unit#1. Although I have one already (see above) I couldn't resist this one. It was cheap. A very well used Marvel Unit#1 non lock-back aluminum slide model from the era when Bob Marvel owned the company. It came to me with 4 Colt magazines and a muzzle brake. I've been soaking the muzzle brake for a couple of weeks trying to de-clog it, but it's still heavily leaded up. The reason for the post, other than posting a range visit, is that the accuracy of this well used example surprised me. I have no idea of how many previous owners and how many rounds have been through this one, but suffice to say it's seen some hard use by it's appearance. I mounted a older 1" Ultradot and took it to the range this morning to zero the optic at 20 yards. The attached pic of the target is the best of the lot, but they are all very close in group size. A true test of quality workmanship from a different time in Marvel's history. I was quite impressed and thought I would share my joy. As stated targets are at 20 yards. Used CCI-SV ammunition. The donor frame is my Norinco M1911-A1.

Another target shot yesterday with the same Marvel Unit#1 as pictured above. I finally de-clogged the muzzle brake and it's now installed. This thing is definately a shooter!

My STI-Wilson-Canada Para P14, hard to believe I bought them 20 yrs ago I shot 100 through each with no malfunctions of any kind, we had a good range trip and I shot good. Many shooting leaving when we arrived, several hundred rounds of brass just for the taking left on ground.. I had a great day. We were very pleased with my friend's new double stack 9mm also no issues with it at all.

Thats 1 of the reasons why I liive where I do. Plenty of public land that isn't closed. Theres timber company land at the end of my street and I can shot in my backyard.

We shot all day yesterday and today here before the rain hits us again, many rounds fired in last 2 days. Took some old S&W 5 screw revolvers today, Para P14 and my 8" AR which I am addicted to, all shot great. Shot at least 150 in the carbine alone.

Took my 113yr old Colt 1902 Sporting. Only loaded up 25 very light .38 Super rounds. Tiny sights and 62yr old eyes are quite a challenge. There is another hole in the target hidden by the slide. Also took my Colt 9mm Competition Model and my S&W Model 41 equipped with a Bushnell TRS25 red dot.

Tell us about it. What ya got? PIcs!!!!

I have 2 - a CMMG BANSHEE 10mm and a FOSTECH ECHO EDITION 9mm. They both got a large portion of my range time and accessory $. I bought a FDE std Brigade, found the ECHO EDITION, and gave my son the FDE unit for his 21st.
