i have a S&W 386 plus. its an airlight, scandium frame and titanium cylinder.
ever seen a boat motor with a crusty surface where it is the water? well after wearing it a couple of years a crusty spot popped up just below the cylinder release. i called S&W, they sent the UPS labels and i sent it back.
when it came home they had replaced the frame with the same serial number and cleaned everything. they said there was a protective coating that must have been penetrated. it was probably sweat from wearing it under a t shirt and touching my skin.
i had the 686 plus first. same gun but its stainless steel. going from 34 ounces to 17 ounces is amasing.
