My wife and I are moving from NC to Conway on the 22nd and would like to know where are the best places to shoot around Conway & Myrtle.
I'm use to shooting on my own property (10 acres a mile off the main road) now but moving to a sub division in the college area I'm pretty sure that won't work out to well for me there. lol I mainly shoot pistol but have a Tavor I like to give an occasional workout.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Gun Store on Hwy 701 South has an indoor range. It's a pretty nice store with a new range.
707 Gun Shop just down the road in Socastee/Surfside has an indoor range, too. I've never had a warm and fuzzy feeling anytime that I go in there so I don't go any more. I know many others that will agree with me but, you need to make up your own mind. You may like it.
Coastal Sports in Murrells Inlet has an indoor range.
Myrtle Beach Range and Museum has been open and closed a lot here lately so I don't know what their status is now.
Just across the state line into NC is Low Country Preserve. I haven't been there either but several good friends say it is one of the nicest places around.

I have never shot on any of the ranges that I have listed above. I'm very lucky that I have a good friend that is about 15 minutes away that has an outdoor range and I have an open invitation to use it. Lots of steel targets from 7 yards up to 300 yards.

I 'm in Conway and you will be moving not too far from me. Send me an email and maybe we can get together some time. [email protected]

I know that google will tell me where they are but not any of the inside info that you can get from those who have shot there or know someone who has.
This will be my first time shooting at a public pay to shoot range in fifty years of shooting. I've either belonged to a gun club that had indoor or outdoor ranges that were covered by your yearly dues or land of my own to shoot on. I don't want to pay for a years membership only to find out the range is frequently closed or that the owner or manager has a Jekyll & Hyde personality.

Geezer thank you for the info.
