Have some silver plate stuff (serving stuff) we'd like to sell for more than just $1 each at a yard sale. Anyone near Charleston have recommendations for buyers or in general going about selling that sort of stuff? We inherited a box of it from grandparents and we'll never use it.

Thought about buying a lead pot and bullet dies and selling silver bullets (projectiles) to the vampire fanboys, but the wife shot that idea down.

We moved some old silver plate a few years ago. Everyone we talked to tried to rip us off...it was crazy.

We finally went to Gene's Jewelry and Pawn on Rivers Ave. They treated us good...and...almost trippled the figure that everyone else tryed to give us...

Just our experience.....Your milage may very...

I would look for a consignment shop. They may buy it directly from you or give you an ideal on a consignment price. Worst case it sets in their shop and not your house...

This is a good idea since a consignment shop gets a percentage of the sale their not going to mark it low

FYI When silver was at $30 range there was a guy in the upstate that processed anything with silver. I think he did pretty good until the price dropped.
