I stripped the bolt, removed the cocking handle, and CLEANED it all out. There was so much black goo in everything, I thought I was doing a good job before, found out I was dead wrong. After cleaning, I inspected a few things. the cocking handle spring was broken, replaced the spring and hold down pin, man what a difference. The extractor and spring was so gummed up it's a miricle to have been working at all, cleaned till it was dry, inspected then reused (proper function). Replaced rollers with +4's. All parts from RTG. The new bolt gap I have is now .012. I figured it was simple stuff.

Without this site and the knowledge within, I would have done the unthinkable and gotten rid of it. Now thanks to all of you here I'm getting to be almost an expert with MY CETME. I'll be taking her to the range to see if my efforts have been worth while. I'm confident that they have been,

Thanks again everybody. sorry to be so long winded.

I like working on my own guns.
I agree this forum is becoming a brain trust.
The trick is knowing where to draw the line.
Somethings are best left to the Pros.

Oh great now you've done it. The gun will run great the next time out and you'll find that yourself yearning for more HK stuff.
Thoughts like "gee a 223 would be nice" will start to invade your dreams. Then visions of a 9mm MP5 style gun will be next etc, etc, etc.
Yup you should have dumped that CETME when you had the chance, now you're screwed!

I've been busy for a while and just got back to the board. LOL. It was too late, before I fixed the CETME.

I did get it out and shot it. It works better than it did when I bought it. No problems encountered at all. So I'm really pattin myself on the back, for this one. It's NOT for sale!?!?!?
