Question about magazine tube

I got my shotgun back from a gunsmith after having some work done, and the load port wasn't opened nearly as much as it could have been. Another fella I shoot with showed me the work he did to his own Versa Max and it looked great. I told him as much and he offered to do mine just like his. The port is opened wonderfully, polished, very nicely done.

The problem I am running into now though, is he cut the port far forward enough to expose the follower and into the back of the mag tube to allow more room at the front of the port and under recoil, the tube is beginning to back out enough to expose a corner of the cutout. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I was thinking of just cutting away the remaining thread at the back of the tube so no matter where it shifts, it clears the port, but I know once I remove the metal, I can't put it back. Is there a way to secure the mag tube so it doesn't back out under recoil?

I also thought about really tightening the mag tube so it's less likely to shift, but I broke a Mossberg tube doing that when I was reassembling my issued M500, so I'm a bit skittish about using too much force to tighten it down. Loctite is pretty much out since the gas system vents right there at the back of the forend.

Any suggestions? Okay, I know the smart thing to do is just go back in time and send it to AI in the first place, but my time machine is broken so that's out.

green loctite will help, and you can probably get away with using a tube clap on a tightened tube extension. Mark at Carbon Arms makes a one piece tube setup for this very issue.

I think I'm doing something really wrong. I use a tube clamp and it's still rotating. Maybe I'm not tightening the clamp enough? I'll try the green Loctite. Thank you guys.

hit everything with some witness marks (white paint pen) to see whats slippin where. Ive seen electrical tape used between clamp and tube to secure it.

but realize that the correct fix is to remove the stock factory tube extension from the receiver, clean and prep it, and reinstall with a thread locker. if/when mine loosens up ill probably spring for the carbon arms one and be done with it.

I'll go with the correct fix. I'm heading out to get green Loctite now. I will absolutely look into the one piece. Do you know if any of the site sponsors here carries it? I didn't see Carbon Arms on the sponsor list or shirt, but then again, I'm easily confused by multiple colors and shapes.

If you are breaking it down, then red locktite is best, imo. green is more of a seeping penetratrive thread locker. The red will fill in more realestate and hold up better, imo

He's sponsored by Remington now. Crestor and Viagra took a backseat to Big Green.
