well it started more than a year ago. a neighbor that does backhoe work was going to knock down 2 big trees and level the yard.
but, his backhoe was broke. we waited and waited. when i fugired out it wasnt going to get fixed i found a guy with a Cat earth mover, dozer.
took him 1 day. moved the big part of the trees for me to cut up, finished the leveling, moved dirt into a low spot to make more yard. great job. and for $400!!!
next we waited for an estimate on a retaining wall. i had the block, he wanted a lot of money. i did it myself.
now we were into winter.
spring came and after our yearly vacation Grace had to have surgery, out of work for 3 months. she is back at work now and ive started again. the last 2 days i was leveling sand inside the wall of the pool. today Grace and i put the liner in. to level the sand i was using these 3 gutter nails, about 8 inches long. i stopped for the rain and to eat lunch, changed to dry clothes and only found 2 nails in my pocket.
dont ya hate when that happens? you know that you know its where you dont want it to be. Grace reminded me that Andy has a metal detector and i should go get it. well he had let me take it to the beach and i asked if he wanted it back real soon so i still had it.
sure enough, through the pool liner it was sending out a metal signal. right where the ladder was to get in and out. we pulled back the liner and i dug it up. fell out of my pocket when i was getting out i guess.
it got dark and i had to stop. we should start filling it tomorrow.
took a long time getting around to the point, thank you Andy, again.
