I was curious as to what the specific guidelines were for me personally purchasing firearms out of state. I will be living in the Woodlands, TX and wasn't sure if I would be legally allowed to purchase firearms there or not. I have heard a lot of different things and would like to hear something for sure.

Any gun you buy from out of state will have to be shipped to a local FFL
When purchasing firearms from out of state simply locate a local gun dealer who is willing to do a "Transfer" for you
They will either give you a signed copy of their FFL to send with your check or will Fax their FFL to the shipper.
The person who you bought the gun from will have to send it to your FFL and you pick it up from them.
Very simple process, I usually transfer at least one gun a day for members here but I only charge $10 because it is a tight knit group and I get free advertising out of it.
Most FFL's will charge you from $20 to $45 to do the transfer and smile all the way to the bank for getting your business.

Once you gain residence as a citizen of Texas, you can legally buy just like you do here; til then, Franson is correct
