He doesn't say superior, just lasts longer. One comment pointed out most metal mags have plastic followers, so those are I guess less superior. What about plastic buttstocks... anybody have one of those on your superior AR? Metal doesn't rot and plastic doesn't dent. Just saying, every material has pros and cons. Why can't we just all get along? (FYI, I have both!)

All that said, let's say were going with metal mags. Now, aluminum, steel, or stainless?

Guess I'm lucky (ha). With 6.8, only option for normal AR receivers is stainless. So guess I'll be fine with my 26 or so mags instead of the hundreds like the folks on those forums.

OTOH, I do squirrel away PMags against the day when I build another 5.56 gun. Last time I got them for an effective $7/each...

I have had great results with both plastic and metal mags to include Thermolds, Sanchez and Cooper Industries. But then again, I am not shooting full auto. One thing I think escapes most folks is mags are a mechanical device that wears out with use. As we all know, there are rebuild kits for mags for this purpose.

At the price of magazines right now, I agree no matter what type you're getting, it's the time to buy. Got a bunch of Teflon costed aluminum mags with Magpul followers for $7.99 the other day. I debated getting PMags but decided at 9.99 , and my goal being quantity, the aluminum ones won out.

In store at PSAs Fernandina location; out of stock online at the moment but they aren't out for long and pop up in their sales stuff randomly also

They had a close out on IMI polymer mags for 7.99 in stock. They had literally boxes of the ones I bought. If you trust me to do it, mail me some cash or a money order and I'll buy what I can and ship em to you. Probably cheaper than PSAs shipping

Larry comes across as an ass.
DreadPirate and Magpul's posts were more interesting to me.
That's what I got from it too. But either way, I have and will continue to buy both.
