Police: 90-year-old man fends off female robbers

[font="Georgia][size="2"]HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. â€" Police said a 90-year-old man in Sumner County put up a fight after three women attempted to rob him Monday.[/size][/font]

[font="Georgia][size="2"]The incident occurred outside the Verizon store on Indian Lake Boulevard just before noon.[/size][/font]
[font="Georgia][size="2"][font="Arial][/font][/size][/font]
[font="Georgia][size="2"]Hendersonville police said three women followed the elderly man to the store and held him up with a gun when he got out of his car.[/size][/font]

[font="Georgia][size="2"]The man knocked the weapon out of one of the robbersâ€™ hands, grabbed it and ran into the store.[/size][/font]

[font="Georgia][size="2"]Several people saw the incident and were able to give police a detailed report of the robbers and their car.[/size][/font]

[font="Georgia][size="2"]Three women from Nashville were later arrested in the case and identified as Veosha D. Thaxton and Demetria Sharnese Crump, both 19, and 20-year-old Jameesia Shawae McGlothen. All face a variety of charges.[/size][/font]
