pocket carry is really a poor choice for mode of carry.
A convienient one, sure. But there are almost always other better options.

I agree with Mike C... a poor choice - but it does satisfy the concept of having a gun on in case you need it.

Now days I relegate pockets (britches anyway) to the method of last resort or for a second gun.
You can't draw seated. That's a problem, we don't want to get in the habit of moving the gun to the glove box or seat or wherever else we can while seated. It's simply too easy to forget the pistol later.

A good IWB works the best the way we dress in hot weather... wearing an over shirt gives a little more flexibilty ... maybe even allows a shoulder holster in some circumstances.

Ankle holsters work... but guns pick up a lot of dirt in one... and I went through 3 before I found one I liked and got rid of it anyway- simply not a good option for me.

I will be switching to IWB soon as I can get a suitable holster. It is a viable option at times, especially at church with a tucked in shirt and no sport jacket.

Crossbreed makes a tuckable IWB. I don't know how much the print , but its an option.

IWB is the only way Ill carry my 637, the exposed hammer pretty much kills andy chance of pocket carry, and as stated by others, not a good choice anyway. I use a patriot industries iwb holster, its made by a local guy, not sure hes around, but its a knock off CB holster, I hear great things about the CB but I really dont see the price tag being realistic, not when there are other options. Im not 100% worried about the comfort, whenever I start thinking about how my holster gets itchy or anything, I think about not having it in a situation like the one in Colorado, or one that happened near me in Mississippi while I was in Jackon, a 16 year old kid shot a gas station attendant in the face for 3.50 in gas. That makes me suck it up, a few hours of being slighty uncomfortable is worth my life.

Hornady makes the Critical defense in 38, Im a big fan. But the Speers are just as good if not better.

Since this thread is veering off towards AIWB carry I will offer my review of the KyTac "Burk" tuckable holster again. Very comfortable and concealable.

Honestly Im thinking of trading my 637 for a 638 shrouded hammer, same capability but much easier to carry.

I'd find a spare hammer for the pistol and bob it. A Dremel tool and a vise are the major tools.

The old guys bobbed the spur just enough they could still use it if needed- and that reshaping the spur got rid of the snag factor.

The slick pocket revolver or hideout pistol concept has a long history... spend some time reading about the old "Fitz Specials".

I'd thing twice about the cut-away trigger guard... but if I find a beater 1917 SW (really beater) It will get a bob-job.

My wife and I no longer carry .380's. We love our snubbies. I have a Taurus 85, and she has a S&W 642 (which I am envious of). I prefer the .38+P over the .380 myself.

For those hot Oklahoma days where we can't wear much, I use this http://www.clipdraw.com for my 85.

It just doesn't get any better than an original S&W 640 "no-dash" loaded with .38spl 158gr SWCHP+P, carried however you like!
