please comment on Glock build

Bob Vogel said he shot a 2011 for three years, and switched to the Glock because he just likes it better. It was on "The Shooter's Mindset" interview he did on Youtube. Pat Kelley shoots Glocks, some of them ZEV/Glockworx guns. You should shoot the gun you like to shoot.

:) Not trying to tick anybody off.
I don't think you tick anybody off at all. I have went through a lot of hobbys and money in the last 30 years and made a lot of mistake but it always works out. The only people who don't mess up are the ones who don't do anything. But there does come a time in your thinking that you are just going in circles in mind and you have to stop and make a decision. Pick the one you can afford and start shooting and have fun and every things else will work out. Piece Out.

What screwed me all up in the head is this FNX-40 in the pic below. I friggin LOVED that gun. I got a nice BladeTech WRS holster in foliage green to match my AR. I got extra mags and mag pouches for it and thought it was the best thing ever and I could rock out with it in 3-gun, I was quite confident about my choice. The factory magwell is great, mag changes are excellent for a factory gun. The grip just melted in my hand like it was meant for it. It's got 1911'ish controls and I was already used to it and could even use it as a single action. The Glock felt pretty stupid comparatively, for a very long time. My grandfather had a large collection of 1911's and that was all I ever knew until getting the Glock so the FNX felt more natural due to the controls and grip angle.

But you know what? I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it! There is is, layed out. I did what I've been told and went with what I liked and thought I could shoot, and I absolutely suck with it! I thought it was all good until I had to hit a sea of 5" steel targets at 15-25 yards. That set me straight real quick. If it was just sucking in general that would be one thing, but I literally just ripped through 100 rounds in my back yard 5 minutes ago with both the Glock and the FNX. Stuff like small cans at 20-25 yards that I could reliably hit with the Glock, I had significant trouble with even at 15 or a little less with the FNX. Follow-up shots are tons faster with the Glock as well, and I can control recoil much better with it. After taking a video lesson from Michael Seeklander, I can shoot the Glock MUCH better than the FNX, and I thought I sucked at shooting Glocks! Major, major disappointment, a total surprise, and a total waste of gear. The problem is I can't afford to make the same mistake twice yet am halfway expecting it at this point so I question myself too much.

The Glock is en-route. I figure everybody needs to know how to run one anyway. Getting hooked up with a little bit of a package deal so hopefully it will come out somewhat on the kick-ass side of things for not as much dough as I originally thought. Still kind of wondering if I'm doing the right thing... the last time I shot the thing I had shells hitting me in the head. Popped straight up in the air and I had 40 caliber brass raining down on my noggin. Stupid black European industrial-block toys. Just ain't right. But, I can at least halfway shoot with the thing. Emphasis on halfway. Fairly confident with soup cans at 20 yards, which is a huge improvement over my FNX.

If you get the work done pictures will be needed!
Ran across the deal of the century so I ended up getting both for less than what a new STI Eagle should have cost. Pic is below. Haven't been able to shoot it yet but first impressions are that the 2011 is some serious beef, way beefier in the beefcake department than the Glock even though the 2011 is 9mm and the Glock is .40 and the Glock has a magwell while the 2011 doesn't. Ergonomics on the Glock is much better though, grip/frame work is top notch, Dawson sights are just badass, cerakote is quite lovely to say the least, and to be honest the Edge trigger is easier to pull than the stock STI although not nearly as crisp. Looking back, I should have just went with the 2011 from the get go, but this is about as nice as a Glock as you could ever hope for and anybody who would complain about it is an idiot. It is really nice, no regrets on the work since I already had it. Starting from scratch? Get the 2011.
