Pistol storage in Car

I am considering one of these for the car. I dont want to have to worry about leaving a pistol in the car. And I want something is dumbarse, smash and dash proff.
Something I can attatch to the center counsol or overhead? Anyone else got any suggestions.

Secured the cable to a steel tie-down ring in cargo area; could use the seat frame. If I need to leave valuables in my car, say for a restaurant dinner, I think it secure enuf to thwart a smash/grab punk who's in a hurry. Takes me seconds to open, easily concealed in vehicle.
