Some of you that know me are probably going to fall on the floor laughing but it seems the folks at work are wanting me to go out to Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks to train the people out there on how to do thier job correctly! me a teacher/instructor  BUT they are offering me some nice additional perks to travel for them like pretty much a week away from home I would make what I do in a month now  I told them I needed to see this one paper before I did anything first.

Just in case this happens does anyone have any idea what there is to do in that state? shooting would not be on the menu since I'd be flying, is there any good flyfishing up there? the 3wt is small enough I could get it on the plane. I've never been that far North so I thought I would ask to see if any of you fella's have been there, not sure exactly where in the state I would be but it doesn't look all that big and the fuel would be on the company hehehe Later,

yes there are plenty of fly fishing for trout opportunities. some of the best chalk streams are found in the Key Stone state. also plenty of put and take streams. you can find native Brookies in many places. small mouth bass fishing is good too in many rivers/streams.

tight lines

There is good fly fishing or just fishing in general up there... you could just go backpacking in the poconoes

Hell it might not be that bad afterall! I've been promised a bunch BUT I'm waiting on the paperwork before I do anything.

If I find out exactly where I'll be I'll let ya know Dave and you might be able to point me to some streams ;)

Thanks fella's! Later,

Kirk

Pennsylvania is BEAUTIFUL, especially toward the northern border. I'd go there just to hang around outside with REAL trees that are large and tall.

I believe the liberty bell is there as well as other historical sites if your into that.
Personally, I do the historical, and then put in some trout fishing.
You can trout fish about anywhere(I love my 6WT) But some of the historical places are pretty special.

yup yup bells in philly. then ya got gettysburg.... all kindsa stuff like that

Agreed with the history there. So much of what we love about our firearms beliefs and country were born created and defended right there in that area. If I were you I would take 2 weeks up there. 1 to train the people and another to give yourself a week deep in the history lessons up there.

I remember walking the battle field at Gettysburg with a very informed man telling me about all the different attack and staging points, going through their advances by a timeline, and seeing where many many brave men fell. It was awe inspiring and humbling to say the least.

That sounds awesome fella's!

Dennis, my 3wt breaks down pretty small so I could get it on the plane, I'm flyrod poor but it would be great to take the bamboo 5wt but I'm guessing the 3wt should be plenty of rod plus it's great to pack in.

I guess I need to check into the carry laws there and if I can carry figure out how to get my buddy on the plane, I just hate hiking without it more so for the big 4 legged critter and just the fact I've got it in case. Later,

I need to get a 5 piece to just what your doing. My TFO is only a 2 piece.
You should be able to get your gun out there, just don't schedule a connection through New Jersey.
