Patriot VS TC Venture and 25.06 vs 308?

Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone has shot both? I am considering the patriot simply because of the walnut stock and even with scope still around the same price as scopeless tc venture. Also curious about caliber, 25-06 vs 308? It will be for target and deer, possibly other small game. Just trying to get an idea of what some options are?

I have not, but a buddy has a venture in 22-250 and is always telling me what a great shooter it is.

Yes. And after holding both today, I have to say I might go with the venture, as much as I want a walnut stocked bolt action, the patriot just felt light and cheap, although a great value considering it comes with scope.
