It sickens me to be involved on many gun forums and to see everyone around the country screaming about how awesome Palmetto State Armory is and how wonderful the prices are.

Many times when I have gone to PSA's website and added identical products to my cart, then calculate shipping and tax, the price is now MORE than it is from an out-of-state competitor, even if PSA is doing a sale.

The economy has been getting progressively worse since 2006 and saving "a couple of dollars" translates into "a gallon of milk" or "a gallon of gas" in my Real World, so I usually shop elsewhere after price-checking with PSA. If I lived in any state besides South Carolina I would be buying almost all of my gun parts from PSA. The sales tax really kills the incentive.

I wish upon a star, a genie in a bottle, or an eyelash on a nose, that Palmetto State Armory would do a "South Carolina Resident Discount" that happens to be exactly what the sales tax is.

I know what you mean. And they never honor their internet sales when you go in one of their stores. But what I have started doing if I order from their website is placing their address as the recipient and pick it up in store with a shipping refund. This may not work for other people because I pick it up from their warehouse store.

But yes SC resident discount and an in store pick up option would be nice way of showing in state love.

My gripe as well. It's nice to have them around, because they do have some stuff in stock that most of their competitors locally do not have, but the sales tax ruins it. The 1911 I just bought i bought from Buds because of this very reason.

You know you guys are supposed to pay taxes on stuff you buy online out of state, right? It's one of the forms for the state tax return.

yep, and the business is going to be made to turn in reports of out of state purchases. some already do.

if you dont keep reciepts there will be a problem, once its implemented.

I rather like shopping at PSA personally, and the AR I got from them has been awesome.

Sales tax is hardly their fault.

In case any of your Tory friends wanted to know, me and some friends are going to throw un-taxed tea into Boston's harbor, too.

TAX IS THEFT, YO!

I see on other forums that most people are turning away from PSA (out of state customers) based on their horrible customer experience and the fact you cannot ever get someone on the phone to speak with an actual person. I see this complaint a lot, and people have stopped shopping there because of it. There's a ton of NC firearms enthusiasts on another forum I frequent that really dislike PSA and even try to convince people to stay away from them.

I moved here last summer but when I was in my previous home state I made a few purchases from PSA and I got deals. Now that I've moved here to SC I recognize what all of you are stating, there's just no deal when shopping online there for SC residents. Where in SC is there online store distribution warehouse? Is that in Columbia as well? I think I had paid something like $15 shipping for some items, not heavy, and I live roughly 60 miles from Columbia. I've never been to their storefront but I had wanted to try it, sounds like it's not worth it?

i like PSA. they make and sell rifles but when lower recievers were going for $300 if they had them at the most werent they $120? yes BCGs were up to $150? but others were higher.
the last big purchase of 22s i bought at PSA. 2 cases of Blazer 40 gr 550 packs $300. thats 11 thousand bullets.

now you cant beat the blem lower rec $59 or $69 ( just checked out of stock but had them yesterday ), and MOE lower build kit,$119. thats a complete lower for $180 or $190 plus tax. they sell the same for $260 and tax.

The warehouse store is in NE Columbia off of Farrow Rd. The address is like 200 Bussines Park or something like that. I was just in there yesterday picking up some parts.

Their warehouse is off of Farrow/Business park, with a small store front.

On Fernandina Road they have a very large store and range. They assemble their ARs and lowers here as well. They usually have a lot of stuff in ... Last week they had more .22 than you could carry (price was not so great on the Blazer bricks) but the store is worth looking around

Y'all are echoing some of gripes. $38 to ship two barreled uppers 90 minutes from Columbia turned me off rather quickly. I got them from Sionics in Arizona and shipping for both was only $15!

A PSA store is supposed to open in my AO in the next year, or so the rumor goes. BUT, when I can get to Columbia, I make sure to stop by because there is always a deal to be had in the store.

Yes at least sometimes. A friend of mine bought a couple after the little quake. I think they announce them on the Greenville store's Facebook page.

Do they ever have any of the blem lowers in the Greenville store?
Dunno about right now but I believe I've seen them periodically. Always seems to be at least something on sale or as a combo deal.

We have tried multiple times to get them to be one of the forum sponsors.
Keep in mind this forum runs in the red, every penny we get goes for t-shirts and such to give out at the Shootzenfests.
Let me tell you a secret about PSA they don't give a elephant dung about you guys.
But that's ok our sponsors do.

damn frost, you sound like you are mad at PSA for not giving us money.

if PSA was a sponsor would it keep us out of the red?

is being in the black the objective? if so who makes a profit?

since we cancelled a Shootzenfest are we in the black now?

i have never paid shipping to PSA. if i wanted their deal i drove from Sptbg to Columbia. why ship, especially a reciever when you then have to pay a dealer for paperwork? seems like they are close as the 90 miles i drove to anybody in the state now with the store in Gville.

maybe they dont think "we" are as special as all their patrons which they give a chance at free guns and hot dogs on special occasions.
