I saw this on Fox News this morning. The LEO has been placed on leave pending an investigation...

And what about citizen security? We don't have that right? If the cops aren't there to protect us, then I guess we have to do the job ourselves!!! And in cases like this, protect ourselves from the cops!
Can't believe this jackass is ONLY on leave right now (pending an investigation...seriously?!)...if a LAC were in his shoes, that individual would be in jail so fast his shoes would be on fire and he'd have a permanent rap sheet to follow him around the rest of his life! Ditch qualified immunity; this gestapo stepping cop needs to be punished, not slapped on the wrist! :evil:

I have had one traffic stop in a license check, two wrecks where I was out of the car, and was "made" in a line in a grocery store
Every time it has been an easy experience.
The officers were professional if a bit wary.
I fully understand the caution especially with the one who "made" me.
The officer who noticed my pistol once my bonafides were established in a nice way lectured me about making myself a target to the bad guys.
There was a story that went along with it if anyone is interested.
The license check he looked at the license, the ccw, and the insurance and sent me on my way never asking if I was armed.
The wrecks the first time the officer asked me if I would mind putting the gun in the trunk.
Even though I had no duty to do so I considered it a reasonable request and did so without complaint.
The second time I had multiple firearms and offered to put them in the trunk.
The officer seemed appreciative of the offer.
I would make the offer again.

My husband and I have been talking about this story all morning. He's at work and can't see the video so I had to give him a rundown, but essentially he, the son of a Federal LEO, feels that this guy is a disgrace and has seen the Dorch Sheriff trending in this manner. I believe that's because his dad had a really bad relationship with them though. And there are too many stories behind that to tell.

The irony is that police officers like that are exactly the reason why the 2nd Amendment exists in the first place.
The driver was, admittedly, a bit slow and unsure of proper procedure. He was also likely up to no good.
The cop was, however, the definition of tyranny and a threat to the stability of society and the prosperity of Liberty and Freedom.
The cop was right about certain types of people needing to be weeded out of society. Damn shame that he thought it was the driver he arrested.

I would have to agree that officer needs to be removed from the force. he has issues that impeed his ability to do his job.
The department has charged the driver with a failure to notify, but that is only a ruse to give them some footing to try adn avoid a lawsuit for reckless endangerment of the public by a police officer.
The problm with police acting like this is that people will get an irrational fear and suspicion that taints every officer on the force. Hard to say irrational when you see something like this video, but its because you never know if you're being pulled by one of the 99 good cops or that one insane cop with a gun and a badge that says he can step back 2 paces and put 10 rounds of .40 caliber in you.
The city of Canton needs to address this as soon as due process will allow and make certain everyone knows they will not tollerate this kind of behaviour by any of their public servants. (don't say that part out loud, cops hate it when you remind them of that)

Right now the Canton PD is completely worthless and a threat to everyone that is subject to the whims and threats of their force and, as alluded by the officer in the video when he said his compatriot would back up his murder, will continue to remain so until they cleanse themselves of the scum we saw.
If those two cops are not fired and the guy issuing the threats charged and imprisoned then I hope the FBI swoops in and disbands the entire force for clear Civil Rights violations.

I didn't watch the video only read the article but if it is in line with the video then WOW! I guess his training officer never told him that the person you talk to today could be the first one that might be able to help you tomorrow while someone is trying to stomp a mud hole in your backside or treat everyone like you'd want your family treated. Hopefully after a completed investigation the department will do the proper thing. I did watch the video of the other other officer who knew the bounds of a consenual contact and did not push them any farther.

Thank God for those DashCams or that person probably would not be alive now. Imbalanced people in positions of power and/or capable of lethal response can be EXTREMELY scary indeed.

What a tool. "Deaths just waiting to happen." Is he serious? Maybe he needs to look at the statistics. If this is his attitude he is breading this anger in his employees. Now I can actually see how the LEO that went off that it might not be his fault reacting the way he did because of his boss attitude.

The only deaths waiting to happen in that interaction were caused by two stupid police officers that were either poorly trained or too cocksure to understand that they provided ample opportunity for the driver to shoot them and they wouldn't have even known what was happening until after one of them absorbed several rounds.
For the sake of their families I hope the lesson they learn about humility, prudence and caution comes from their being fired and not from their eventual, inevitable bloodloss on some street in the middle of the night.

Yeah, dealing with LEO issues in Kaliforniastan has changed considerably in the Post Rodney King century.
We still have incidents here in Moscowchusetts, but most of them are pretty minor situations. I often wonder what percentage of people here are legal firearms owners and how many are permitted to carry concealed. The only firearms incidents I've heard reported involved either criminals or LEOs, with one exception involving a licensed person with a shotgun.
