I have a chance to buy a used Otto load two vest/belt. It holds 22 rounds but one of the shell holders has a small crack. What are your opinions on this set up? If you own one what is the warrenty like? I currently load out of a 6 round CCW (three at a time) and have bought a couple of the AP 4x4's. Just wanted to see if it is worth buying this and forgoing the caddies.
Thanks

I've got one, that I bought from Mark, last time I was in Corpus. I like it, but haven't had the chance to use it a whole lot. It also gives me an excuse not to get skinny again (like that was going to happen) because it perches just fine on my beer gut

I got my weak hand thumb caught in the truck door it swelled up the size of a hot link. My thumb was very sensitive to pressure I had a doctor burn a hole with a Cautery High temp fine tip in my thumb nail and wow a lot of blood came out of my thumb, instant relief...
Thumb is better now I wish I had before pics

If that deal is available go for it you can always put it back up for sale. Always good to have a back up method

I saw that ad.

Once i started the load two method ive never looked back. Its the most efficient loading method in my opinion. However Ive already been struck down for bad mouthing weakhand loading.

The Otto vests are pricy and the one your talking about is about 60% of one new. keep in mind you will probably be loading 20 and forgoing the cracked holder. still, if you can repair it,its a good deal

I built my own vest for practice with house hold junk. (granted I load 4 at a time so 2 rows are close enough to grab at once) here is the thread http://www.boomershooter.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10283-3-gun-bushcraft/
Well being a Lefty I've learned that loading weak hand for me is about the same time wise as strong hand. I've adapted over the years and can do great gross motor skills and adequate fine motor skills weak hand. I like the concept watching videos but also read that the load two technique is perfect for beginners so now I'm conflicted because I don't want to feel like I'm digressing. I liked your DIY project but can't get the mental image of the "quad load" can you expand on that please sir.

Ha Ha mine should ride fine then also! What type of warrenty does it carry, can it be transfered?

You went to the Dr. for that? I had the same thing happen with a truck fender and a canopy cover that was under some serious tension (thats what I get for trying to be nice and help and old guy out), I did the same thing except I used the smallest drill bit I could find and slowly spun it until it punched through and you are correct it was the greatest relief I have ever felt, dare I say better then sex it was just to stop the throbbing pain.

Sorry for not multi quoting those three responses, I don't post enough so I'm trying to build it up fo rthe classifieds.

That's a great story but has nothing to do with the original question............. :sarcastichand: :sarcastichand: :sarcastichand:

Do what all the new kids do and say "Welcome" To people who have been here for a year

Grab 4 shells and shove them in the tube 2 at a time. or was that not the question?
Yes it was the question but I just can't wrap my head around holding 4 stacked like that and them feeding right without bunching up or falling in the process. I look forward to the video when you get it up and running.

Love my Otto vest. But don't throw all your caddies away. There are times that they are better suited or to carry buck or slugs. And armbands! Just don't throw away all your options but the Otto will do 98% of of the work.

yes it relates Burk, having an alternate method to weak hand loading is a good idea

I bought an Otto load 2 vest a while ago. I Like it a lot. But like someone stated above I keep a caddy on me for slugs/a real short stage where I don't need to carry the vest.

I bet Mark would warranty that unit. Give him a call. You can probably JB weld it or just not use that section.

I had a Otto vest when they first came out. It worked but the spacing between clips for my fingers to fit into wasnt as wide nor were the shells held as high off the belt as the other options out there. It was a well made unit though.

Thanks Jesse for the info.

Got chance to do some work today with multiple carriers. Did the Keith Garcia practice drill on the plate rack, shoot 1 load 4 shoot 2 load 4 shoot 2 load 4 shoot 1.
Took a little bit to get use to the 4 shell from the AP caddy after using 3 at a time, then I tried the fsl 12 caddy and liked it, times were faster than the AP, then I tried my buddies Corbon load two off of my belt and the times were even faster. Could believe to time difference right out of the gate since I used the load two technique for the first time and have never had a chance to practice with it.

Sorry forgot to mention this, the seller contacted Mark and he said to return it, not sure if he's going to replace or repair it. Hope the seller doesn't change his mind now.

Load two is fast!!! I had a first timer use my setup at a match a few weeks ago. He was easily loading 8 in 8 seconds. That's not gonna ever happen with a first time weak hand loader.
