Hi guys

Looking at getting a new rifle and have my eyes on the STAG 3 G.

Does anyone have pros and cons on this rifle.

Will be used for 3 Gun and Ipsc Rifle.

Thanks

Pros - low cost, all the features you need in a 3G type rifle
Cons - comp is useless, Geisselle S3G trigger is not everyone's favorite

I used to shoot these rifles a lot with a bunch of upgrades. The stock gun is s great starter gun. I'm shooting for a Rhino Arms this year. Based on what I saw and learned while shooting for Stag I talked Rhino into building an entry level 3G rifle. It will have a better barrel, trigger and comp then the Stag 3G but probably a less expensive stock. Trying to get the Rhino to the Stag price point which is tough without giving up features. Looks like the Rhino will run about $1500 with my discount code that gets you to $1350 which is $100 more then the cheapest Stag I've seen. The rifle isn't on the rhino website yet but it can be bought by calling direct. Should be up on the site in a week or two. My discount code is JTRhino10. Drop me a PM and I'll give you my number if you want to chat via phone to learn more about this gun. I think you'll like what it has to offer moreso then the stag.

Thanks alot for the advice so far.
But, Being located in Europe I am facing the fact that I can´t get everything I would want.

I have choices between Stag, Dpms, Schmeisser, JP and a few others. I would probably like the Rhino, but getting it here would probably take forever..

How would yall rate the barrel stag uses? $200 bucks on their Web site ain't a bad price.
It will shoot 1 MOA with hand loads or the right match grade ammo. Compared to my JP that shoots sub MOA with match ammo and MOa with just about anything else I put in it.

For the money it's not bad at all. I used it for matches with targets 300 and in. Long range stuff I took a JP barrel. Biggest complaint of most folks is the weight. It's a fluted HBAR.

The Rhino barrel has a 1/2 MOA guarantee.

The 3G is the only competition rifle I have fired, everything else has been stock. Now that I have my oh-so-impressive credentials identified, I concur with previous folks that the comp sucks and should be replaced almost as fast as you replace the factory sights on a Glock. I put a Rolling Thunder comp on my Stag and tuned it as per Jesse's simple instructions on the Brownells website and there is zero movement of the muzzle when I fire. I personally love the Geissele trigger because it lets you balance speed and accuracy wonderfully. Lifetime barrel replacement if you wear yours out is something I hope to be able to take advantage of. I have a load that put five rounds in an inch at a hundred yards, with three of them going into a half inch, fired off of a sandbag rest and that was before I tweaked the powder charge. I should get better results once I finish refining things.

The weight can be a blessing and a curse. A 9.5 pound rifle and optic setup is good if you are shooting a course that will require long shots, but I imagine it could be a bit of a hindrance if you are in a smaller bay that requires fast swings. The stock is comfortable but a bit big and I plan to eventually put one of the skeletonized stocks on it.

Overall, it's a more than suitable 3 gun rifle after replacing the comp in my not so humble and mostly flawed opinion.

I have looked at my options for ordering a new rifle.
My best option for Price and delivery time is to go with the STAG.
It Will be here in 10 weeks or so if I order this week.

Thankyou all for Tour input.

It is finally ready!!! MSRP $1600. Use discount code JTRhino10 to save 10% off this BAMF and anything else AP Customs/Rhino Arms sells.
