Opinions on a Beretta model 84

Im looking to get a Beretta Model 84 date proof marked for 1981 in mint condition, collector grade. Is this a good gun and what would the value be?

It is a great gun, but why do you want an oversized .380 ?

If I was getting a great deal on the gun I would buy it for the hell of it but I can't justify (to myself) spending more than $300 on a .380, particularly one that doesn't conceal as well as a Kel-Tec P3AT in the same caliber.

What price can you get it for?

Is the model discontinued? Can you source replacement parts? Is the gun for shooting, carrying or collecting?
