The proposed law was shot down once but I guess the plans are to push it back through now that we have a different governor. How do you guys feel? I carry every day and just can't see myself having a gun out in the open for the world to see. I think I would always wonder who had their eye on it and who thinks they could take it from me. I'm just paranoid like that

I think that in just about all everyday situations, I would carry concealed.

But, I would like to have the choice to carry openly.

I would like to not be so damn nervous when I'm squatting down or reaching up to pick up an item off the shelf at the grocery store.

You know I dont understand why people say well I would not open carry because I would be afraid to show it to the world...ect ect..... For years our fathers and fore fathers carried in the open, you want to know what I got it is right here thing...

I lived in AZ and it is an open carry state, there is no one making a big deal about it when I was around.. Hell I liked seeing it cause I liked guessing what they were carrying.

There were nobody screaming....OMG HE HAS A GUN!!!!!!!! Blah Blah Blah.... There were certian places they were not allowed to carry such as a bank.... You walk in a bank the security guard asked you to remove it while in there, you removed it unloaded it and handed it to him, no big deal, I saw that more than once...

As for me I would prefer to open carry the reason I have nothing to hide.... You want my gun here it is COME AND TAKE IT.... That is my veiw of it.... I dont like CC because I feel it is hiding from the bad guys....

I am all for open carrying them all the way... After a year or so of people being scared to death of seeing them they would get used to it....Just like everything else they shove down our throats...

An armed society is a polite society... Why hide it?

Bad guy wants to rob me he sees it out in the open he thinks twice before attacking me...That is fact....

Most bad guys will not open carry anyways cause they dont want that kind of attention drawn to them.... That is fact...

Police encounters more than likely will be a lot of them when the law first takes effect, but just like everything else it will relax towards open carrying...That is fact..

Hell I am all for still making it where you have to have a permit to do it..Why not?

LEO comes up to OCer and asked for permit.. shows permit...LEO can if want check gun... Good to go have a nice day sir.... OCer goes on his way...What is the problem?

And those are the bottom line... Cause Stone Cold WolfXD45 said so...

:D

+1 and I wouldn't mind being able to toss my gun in it's holster for all to see when I'm in a place that has that not so safe feeling.

I don't know about all that but I wouldn't mind losing that dirty underhanded feeling I get when we meet in parking lots to sell guns.

Open Carry permit? I hope to God they don't try to require a permit to open carry. Doesn't anyone else see what they (state) is doing..slowly but surely

1st: open carry freely
2nd: concealed carry permit created but open carry is declared unlawful
3rd: open carry permit created
4th: ???

pretty sneaky huh?

But it is only a small fee and a background check. Who couldn't support that?! Our streets would be safer. Our children could sleep peacefully at night. What a wonderful thing it could be.

don't know why people are all worked up either way.... i don't think i would OC, but i could care less if others did, funny how worked up people are about this issue.... also if it does pass and i see Wolf OC i am going to scream "HE'S GOT A GUN" :)

On the topic of open carry (and not the training aspect), I'm just surprised at how many people react as if when this law passes, everybody who carries would be required to carry openly. It's just an option, it's more freedom to allow individuals to make their own decision for themselves.

agree, agree, agree

The biggest problem I have with it is the "licensure". Not many know it but the bill that was vetoed last year stated that open carry was only permitted by conceal carry permit holders

Well if that is required to pass it I am all for it... We have to start somewhere... And to help grease the wheels (lack of a better term here) and they see the permit money possibiltes they will be more apt to do it...

Besides when you decided to play politics you have to relize they are playing with a different set of rules then we are... We are asking them for it not them asking us...

Come on brother we have to fight the battles before we can even think of winning the war....

I'm for every bit of ground we can gain in the war to reinstate the 2A and the human right of bearing arms. It rankles that they limit CC and likely will OC to "permit" holders (permission from government being the operative word). Jefferson would never have asked permission to bear arms from anyone.
