Who thinks an online renewal would be practical? Is it even doable?
Technically speaking, you have to have a picture and a signature for your renewal form, notary signature too?, I can't remember, so I don't think online would be possible without the camera and ability to scan a signature. but maybe.
I know nothing about the training/certification for the photographers, just that there aren't very many places you can get a passport photo, and I think the notaries stamps have to be original on the form, so I don't know how that would all work with a scanner and electronic imaging. I know you can do signatures electronically based on the encryption of the file that is transmitted, but I don't think the government will ever accept a digitally produced picture and signature for us and the notary, for the License.I thought there was some training cert or liscense for passportphotos anyway.

Actually now that im thinking about it I believe its a certain kind of camera you have to use. I remember talking to the Photographer the day I got mine.
I saw that article also. I don't really think that guy knows what he is talking about when he said
"the system which he says uses databases that are not very robust or reliable to check the background of people looking to carry a weapon."
Besides, that doesn't have anything to do with it being online vs. non-online. But what should I expect from "Gun Violence Prevention Center"
Thanks Mr. Giggle (I still wish I knew your damn real name).
