Old Fort shootout 3.14.15 and 3.15.15

Thanks man. They've got scores for both days posted separately right now, but my math says I got 2nd limited and high A class. I'm happy with it. I made a plan and stuck with it. I could have been a lot faster, but I shot really good points.

It was entered that way accidentally, at least from what I overheard yesterday. In past years it has definitely been a combined match, that's why you cant shoot the same division both days.

I can't imagine them ordering two sets of trophies/plaques to award winners of both days. Surely they're going to go back and combine them.

I am pretty sure it's officially one match, which is why you have to shoot different guns(divisions) each day.

Robbie, A Class?? Really?? :)

We heard both today so who knows what they are officially going to do. Although today's match was not the same match that was shot yesterday.

I don't think it was intentional and I'm not saying it made any difference in the way I approached things. But props were moved to different positions and targets that were available yesterday were not available today from the same position. The stage description was also changed from the previous day.

I shot turrable so like I said it didn't change my game plan at all.

The stages were fun and a lot of running was involved also. Reminds me I need to pick up on the cardio a bit.

Wow, that's a bummer. Maybe they set it that way in practiscore then just decided to go with it? I seriously hope not. Driving three hours each way and springing for a hotel room to shoot against 30 people would be a disappointment. The stages were a blast. Lots of wide aiming required and definitely had to be able to hit steel.

I shot Open today with my Limited gun. It was amusing. I was inspired by that devilish rougue Micah Rowe.

Hello Everyone, Debbie is trying to combine the scores as this is supposed to be a single match that you can shoot two different divisions in. Hopefully she will be able to get all the scores combined this way we can where all stack up.

I would also like to comment on Prov1x's post. I know on stage 1 someone moved the left barrel that was hiding the swinger. Our squad started on that stage both days and Saturday when we shot it the head box was not available from the start position, but Sunday when we got to the stage you could clearly see the head box from the start position. We moved the barrel back to where it was supposed to be and Debbie wrote in the correction to stage description "that swingers must be activated before engaging". When we set everything up on Thursday you could not see the head box of the target but apparently we forgot to nail down the left barrel and someone took advantage of it. Please except my apologies for OFGC crew for this mistake. It really pisses me off that someone will try to cheat that way, I'm all for gaming the hell out of a stage, but that's just plain cheating. Sorry for the rant, if anyone saw anything else that was changed from Saturday to Sunday please let me know I can't fix it now but it will help us better prepare for future matches? Next year we will try to mark everything with orange paint to try and keep this from happening again.

On a side note, I have a question that I would like to throw out there for you guys and like to get your opinions on. Last year we shot 6 field courses and 1 classifier, this year we shot 7 long field courses. If we keep this as the same format in the future, meaning a one day match that you can shoot both days but in different divisions, how many stages and rounds would you guys like to shoot in a single day? I was kinda thinking 8 stages with 25 plus round count and maybe a classifier or a short course or something along those lines for a total of 9 stages. What's everyone's thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Loren P.

Thanks for the info Loren and I hope I wasn't sounding rude or anything because that wasn't the intent.

I like this years format but I do like your thought of putting on a speed shoot and a classifier for 9 stages, (If I read that correctly).

No sir, you were not rude and no offense taken at all. Debbie and I saw that the barrel had been moved Sunday morning and it went all over us that someone would try to gain an advantage that way.

And yes that is what I meant, maybe adding a couple of stages similar to some of the ones you had at the last USSA shoot. I don't remember what stage number it was at your last shoot, but the stage where you started facing up range, turn then engaged several targets then you either shoot the 4 targets in the middle while moving or shoot them standing still and there where a few targets on the far side. If I remember correctly you chose to shoot them on the move and afterwards I asked you about it and you said that you wished you had stopped and shot them, they were out there just a little further than what most people are comfortable shooting on the move, unless your Kelly. That stage looked fun as hell but do to my previous endeavors... (AD) I just got the proud privilege of being squad mom. LOL
