Old Fort shootout 3.14.15 and 3.15.15

Match is looking good. Sign in on Practiscore. That will get you squad options. You can pay when you get here. We are not doing a late pay or late entry fee. If you want, you can still mail the entry form and fee to me at P.O. Box 192, Fort Smith, AR 72902.

I can only speak for myself but that is the first weekend of spring break and I would become a single feller with a crapload of "bills" if I am not back before we start vacation.

Why is the okc crew NOT shooting both days?
I thought we already settled this?

Bryan and I are shooting both days C-Dizzle

Doc told me I can't shoot. Shoulder is a little more jacked than originally thought and he wants me to not move it for 2-3 weeks. Bummed.

We are just a week or so out from the Old Fort Shoot Out at Fort Smith. Stages have been finalized by Deb Pankratz, with some help by a few folks who have no respect for normal props. The swinging Texas Star, designed and built by Ken Butler, that allows the Star to rotate and swing at the same time. A kinda weird Swinger, courtesy of Mike Gibson at MGM Targets, that incorporates a Swinger with several Plates. On Stage 7, there is an interesting prop, and I can't remember the formal name. I think it may be called the "Irish Plate Rack." A horizontal bar (sorta like a standard plate rack) with a 4 Plate 'Star' on each end. Once activated, the horizontal bar will spin 360, while the Star on each end turns, wherever they want.

I don't think anyone has ever complained that matches at Old Fort Gun Club were boring!

Slots for both Saturday and Sunday are still available. You can sign up on Practiscore, and you will get squading info by email. Or, you can send me your entry form by either fax (479-785-4559) or email to [email protected]. We will hold your spot, and you can pay for the match when you get here.

If you need overnight, check with Candlewood Suites, local number (479) 424-3800. Call them direct and ask for 'Gun Club Rates' for special pricing. A gun friendly property.

I have checked weather for the match. Forecast is for 82°, slight southeasterly wind, surf at only 4 feet. No, wait a minute -- that was for Saint Croix, Virgin Islands. I entered the wrong Zip Code. But Fort Smith looks like mid 60's, with little chance of rain.

I think an entry form, and stages, are attached. Sign up, come have a fun match.

Hope to see you next weekend.

Several inquiries from weather watchers about the status of the OFGC Old Fort Shoot Out starting tomorrow.

We are still on for both Saturday and Sunday.

The road to the Range will likely be mostly covered in water, but the base is good and solid. Drive a little slow, and get the undercarriage cleaned. Boots, or at least a change of socks, will be in order.

LATE START FOR SATURDAY: The rain is supposed to end early Saturday morning, then clear the rest of the the day. SHOOTERS MEETING FOR SATURDAY ONLY HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 10:00 am.

Sunday looks good, clear and sunny. Shooters Meeting for Sunday will remain at 0900.

Please help spread the word about late start on Saturday.

Where did all that come from? Is that the liquid stuff that falls from the sky? Its been so long since we have seen any of that I don't remember what it looks like.

After shooting in the rain at doule tap ranch where the wet clay is both slippery as ice and sticky enough to make 10lbs of elephant dung stick to each shoe, I'm not even worried about it. You guys have actual dirt in Arkansas. It might be wet, but the ground wont be play-dough

I guess my wife was smart for scheduling all the families March birthday festivities for this weekend. Looks like Sunday might be a winner though. If I drive over will I get to shoot?
