Oklahoma State USPSA Single Stack Championship at H&H Gun Range Sunday March 11th

Actually, it's 8 rds max in magazines after the start signal to score major. You can run 9 rd mags in .40 and 10mm shooting 210 PF loads, but you'll still score minor. Or load them to 8 rds and score major if your load makes it.

9mm can run 10 rds in the mags and score no greater than minor, no matter what.

I have never been able to get 9 rounds in my 9 rd 10mm mags they feel more like 8 3/4 rd mags  Anyway sounds like fun count me in for SS

So, how are you going to handle the signup for this match? Will we show up and sign up or are we pre-registering? Are you limiting the number of people who can shoot the match? Inquiring minds want to know?

Actually pretty excited to see that we will be having "State" matches this year in all divisions. It's going to be fun!

Take another look at the first post. Sign up starts at 5:30, no early registration, no limit. It will be like a regular match except focus on Single Stack and be this years state match for SS.

Pretty sure that answer is "no," as they don't require it for any other of their matches......but why wouldn't you want to join?

I was really just wondering if it was a Level 1 or Leevel 2 type match due to it being a state match? I guess I answered my own question when I went and looke dup the requirements for level 2.

Hi Everybody,

Shannon here with a little bit more explanation.

Ordinarily state matches are Level II matches (or sectionals) which is a designation assigned by the USPSA. The rules to qualify to host and to shoot in Level II matches are slightly different than for Level I match, thus the justifiable confusion about what divisions will be allowed and whether you have to be a USPSA member.

In this case, the match at H&H will not be a Level II match and thus according to USPSA it is not an official Sectional. It is however, sanctioned by the section director. The match directors for the various USPSA clubs within Oklahoma met earlier in the year and at the urging of the section coordinator we have planned to have "State Championships" for every division this year. In some cases these will be actual sectionals, in others (as for the single stack match) it will just be a state championship with no larger meaning according to USPSA.

Therefore:

1. There will be ribbons (and bragging rights)
2. There will not be a prize table
3. The entry fee is $15
4. Sign-up will be the evening of the match at 5:30
5. There will be homemade cookies
6. You do not have to be a USPSA member to shoot or be eligible for ribbons
7. You do have to be shooting in Single Stack division to be eligible for ribbons
8. If you do not have a single stack gun, you can shoot the match in a different division (only 1 division per shooter) provided our number of enrolled single stack shooters does not exceed 50. If you are someone who shoots multiple guns, you are STRONGLY encouraged to shoot single stack at this match. The more single stack people the better.
9. We will be enforcing all the rules for single stack division, although as Mike mentioned, we will not Chrono.
10. There will not be a classifier at this match.
11. There will be 4 stages with a round count not to exceed 125.

Thanks for all the interest and I hope as many people as possible will come out and shoot single stack. I would, but Mike just sold all our single stack guns, so I'm going to have to borrow one off of someone else.

We appreciate all your support!

clarification, won't have a gun measurement box either so if all you have is 10 rd mags, you can download to 8 and shoot. As Troy mentioned, your fellow competitors will be carefully counting your shots.

I am super excited about trying to win the coveted High C Class Oklahoma State Single Stack Championship Ribbon!!!

I think this is better than most anything ever found on a revolver prize table :)

5. There will be homemade cookies

Maybe I can Shannon to make the C ribbon a bright Pink :) Of course, you could bring that SS to the classifier, shoot to your ability, and be ready to win the more coveted B or A ribbon in March.

I highly doubt the classifiers shot at this months match will be on our classification by the SS match

That's what I was thinking Chris. Plus I have to keep my reputation with my bullet buddy in tact by sandbagging with my classifications at all matches with any sort of prize or awards.

Probably right on the timeframe Chris. This sport reminds me more of golf every day. You meet a lot of people that just enjoy the challenge and play the ball as it lies. They turn in every scorecard, good and bad, to get a valid handicap. Then you have those who just turn in the high scores to get a high handicap so they can see their name on the leader board and have a tendency to use the old foot wedge when it's tournament time. In all sports, a participant should do their best all the time and let the chips fall where they may. I'd think an earned prize would make the winner prouder. There's also a saying in golf, you can tell a lot about how a person is in life by the way he records his score. Neither are that big a deal to me, I'm just a C shooter and a 15 handicap hacker.

Sooo... as a Production guy, can I still shoot the match or only if there are less than 50 SS shooters?

You got it. The primary focus of this match
Is SIngle Stack. IF 50 people or more sign up to shoot SS, no other divisions will be allowed. That's pretty doubtful, but a possibility.
