OKLAHOMA STATE PRODUCTION AND LIMITED 10 CHAMPIONSHIP

Question: This is the 2012 USPSA Production and Limited 10 match with 11 stages, but there are no classifiers...why no classifiers?

Thanks,
Sandy

Major matches rarely have a Classifier stage. They do usually have at least one boring standards type stage, but it's usually not one of the Classifiers.
Instead, this match will have a fun mix of 11 different long field courses, medium courses, and speed shoots.

On a side note; If a Major match has enough GM-Classified shooters in attendance, then the whole match will count as a Classifier. This will not be the case at the OK Sectional, I think.

Thanks so much for explaining that to me. I thought it probably had something to do with it being a Major Match.
You never know until you ask....and I do ask alot of questions!
Thanks again
.

Me to LOL - I haven't shot a TON of major matches - but the only one I've shot without a classifier was Hillbily - and its not even a Level 2 match if i remember.

Just do like me show up confused, when the RO says ready just say not really then when the buzzer goes off run around and shoot the cardboard :unknw: maybe one day it'll start to work LOL Later,

Brandon, did you shoot A4 last year? There was no Classifier stage. Standards yes, but it wasnt a Classifier stage. The entire match, however, did count as a classifier.

Double Tap, A4, and the OK Limited/Production Sectional ...
last year, just to name a few, did not have Classifiers.
DT and A4 both counted as Classifiers, even though there was not a Classifier stage.
A4 did have a 'standards' stage, but it was not a Classifier.

I just shot SS Nationals this weekend, no Classifier.
I've shot 5 Nationals now, no Classifier in any of them.
IIRC, I shot 11 Majors last year, maybe 4 of them had Classifiers.

Sometimes when Majors have a Classifier stage and the match also counts as a Classifier, you get a 2 Classifiers from one match, which is just weird.

So, I'd stand by my statement that Majors more often than not, do not run a Classifier stage.

YMMV. ;-)

Hello everyone, it looks like there are a few questions to be answered.

1) The Section match is a level 2 match, it's stages have been approved, and there are 213 rounds minimum. There are 6 medium courses and 5 long courses, I felt the match was challenging enough without the added preasure of a Classifier.

2) I wasn't going to post the stages, but several people really want to see them, so they are posted on the Website.

3) Match is just over half full but there are several slots still available.

Feel free to contact me directly by email or phone if you have any questions I didnt answer.

Thanks

Ahh I thought the standards were a classifier. Your mileage is def better than mine. Space city, la gator, ms classic, all ran/run classifiers. Guess it just varies by who runs the match. Back to the OK match sorry for the off topic discussion.

I'm really excited about those stages. Looks like its going to be a fun and challenging match. You can sure tell this is a L10/Prod match.

Robert, you seem like you were apprehensive about posting the stages. Am I going to ruffle your feathers if I post a pre-match breakdown in my shooting log?

lol

From the way it's drawn, it looks like some targets will be shot through the barrel & some will not.
Actually, from the drawing it looks like all targets could be taken without the use of the barrel, but I'll bet it get set up to where the barrel has to be used.

Well looks like I'll need some more mag pouches, only 10 rounds in a mag is gonna take getting used to when I'm used to 20 :O I bet I know a guy I can get them from. Robert I'll try to get you some money for the match in the post tomorrow! with the luck I've had with the USPS you might get it in time grrr. Later,

Kirk
