Oklahoma Section RO Class

No - I already took the class - and I already passed it.

Every answer is in the rule book - its not let 1 person do it - and give everyone else the answers. Most folks would call that cheating. If you can't read a rule book and find an answer - why take the class to begin with?

I'm sure the top of your test looks identical to this.

Notice the part that says "DO YOUR OWN WORK WITHOUT ASSISTANCE" - that means DON'T CHEAT AND SHARE ANSWERS!!!

Geez!!! Somebody sounds like they are pissed that they didn't take the Team BoomerShooter class where it was decided that we would make sure nobody was stuck in B class at 84%.

I'll just leave these here and add that discussion of the rules makes for better RO's. I'm pretty certain that everyone there can do an open book test. Besides is it even possible to cheat on an open book test?

Sure it is - if someone says - give me the answers for 10-20 - I would say that's cheating.

I agree discussion is OK - but why not discuss after you took the test and passed it? Or why not ask your instructor?

Gamers gonna game homie! One thing I did learn in the class is how to DQ Admins at matches.

OK how about someone starts asking random rules "questions" that might have significance in this thread about becoming an RO?

If you can't get an 85% on an open book test - DON'T BECOME AN RO!!!!

As Chris said above - the PDF file is SEARCHABLE - you can SEARCH for answers. So most likely you are too lazy to find the answer yourself? Again - if you are not going to take the time to do the test and search the rulebook yourself - why do you want to become an RO?

OK I didn't want to say this in an open forum because I am shy. But Jared Carpenter was in the class with us and I'm pretty sure he is too pretty to be able to read or write. I'm just trying to help a brother out.

Is the test online anywhere?

Are the questions online? Somebody may have had to use the hard copy to get out of a bind after the class cause somebody locked the bathroom at the range.

Can anybody help a brother out finding #6? So that Brandon doesn't lock the thread just give me a hint.

During the course of fire, a competitor engages a pepper popper which does not fall. After the COF, the shooter challenges the calibration. The CRO cannot see any evidence of a hit on the popper and denies the challenge. Id the CRO Correct in this ruling?

It makes sense that you have to hit it to ask for it to be calibrated but I can't find anything that specifically says exactly that.

Appendix C1 #6 says the following...

6. If, during a course of fire, a popper does not fall when hit, a competitor has
three alternatives:
a. The popper is shot again until it falls. In this case, no further action is
required and the course of fire is scored “as shot”.
b. The popper is left standing but the competitor does not challenge the
calibration. In this case, no further action is required and the course of
fire is scored “as shot”, with the subject popper scored as a miss.
c. The popper is left standing and the competitor challenges the calibration.
In this case, the popper and the surrounding area on which it
stands must not be touched or interfered with by any person. If a
Match Official violates this rule, the competitor must reshoot the
course of fire. If the competitor or any other person violates this rule,
the popper will be scored as a miss and the rest of the course of fire
will be scored “as shot”. If the popper falls for any non-interference
reason (e.g. wind action), before it can be calibrated, Section 4.6 will
apply and a reshoot must be ordered.

Duh its right there!
