Oklahoma Muzzle loader season starts 10/25/13

I don't know about the other states represented here, but Ok starts Saturday.

Who is going and what do you shoot?

Personally I have the Savage Smokeless MZ shooting 300 grain Hornady's at 2350 fps. Hammers em on the spot.

I will be out there this weekend.....not looking forward to the heat though....I've got a CVA optima with 230 gr sabots and 100gr of pyrodex....plenty good for the distances I shoot...

I'll be there, too, probably in shorts and a t-shirt. I shoot a CVA Optima with 170-grain DRTs and 100 grains of Triple 7. I just started trying the DRTs last year. Both my daughter and a neighbor boy got good one-shot kills, so I'm sticking with them this year.

Phil and I will be up in NW OK. I'm shooting a TC Omega with 150 gr pirodex (3 pellets). Bullet is 245 gr powerbelt. The crono only showed 1750. May be it didn't get a good reading? That's a 28" barrel gun.

I haven't made the jump to muzzle loader yet. I want to but just can't afford a smoke pole yet.

It looks like the weather is going to make a change for the better. I'm going to try to make it out a couple of times in the next few days, work permitting. 60-70 is much better than 80-90. Maybe they'll start moving a little more during the daylight hours.

The freezer will be empty no more. Things were starting to get a little lean out there. I went out solo yesterday evening and shot a nice doe. Had her all gutted, loaded in the truck and on the road home before dark. Now I can concentrate on chasing a buck this weekend.
