Oklahoma High-Cap Hose Down Match II

L10 is pretty popular up here in Ponca.
The rules we ran the match by was, standard USPSA rules except for the number of rounds in the stage. Seemed to work pretty well. Everyone knew what to expect. I think it will run by those rules again.
We are not sure about the 10 round thing, just been kicking things around.
Appears there is some interest in this thread for L10.
Just how bad of a mag changer are you!! :P

I think a lot of newer pistol shooters come to the matches, and shoot their out of the box 1911's.
Can't or don't want to spend a ton of money on a newer or faster pistol.
That's just my opinion on it, there may be other reasons I'm not aware of.

ahhh, nice, so i could shoot my XDM 9mm, they will hold 19 and i have 4 mags.. is that enough??

Benjamin, I just bought 3 more XDm 9mm mags to bring me up to 6. Will give me 114 rounds. I hope that is enough. I've never shot a texas star, polish plate rack or anything similar, and I'm not a good shot.

What are the rules on mag holders and placement?

I'm not aware of any rules at this match regarding placement of mags.
First hose down was 4 stages with a minimum round count of 60 per stage. I saw some shoot 80. I shoot single stack limited 10, so I always had to make 7 mag changes per stage. Had 10 loaded mags on me with some in pouches, pockets, etc. It was a blast!

i may have to borrow some of your mags, if that is cool, we could be sure that we didn't shoot close to eachother so we could reload them.... i might not even need them, just don't want to get to the end of the stage and have 2 targets left and no mags!!

No problem, you can use them too if needed.

I'm going to post this again.
If your any kind of artist, and can supply an awesome design for the Hose-Down Shoot tshirt design, its good for a free entry!

The match director hasn't posted the entry fees yet, but it would be worth your while to do this. ;)

Anybody thats a vendor, or business that wants to sponsor a stage, would be appreciated as well. :D

Let start with two quick statements. First, this match is a fund raiser for us to expand our range. Long story short but we lost our range a few years back and we're trying to get our new one up and going. Second, we're wanting the is be a semi annual FUN match. We're just trying to build an odd, FUN match following standard USPSA rules (with the exception of the round count of coarse) to help build our range!!! That way anyone that has ever shot a USPSA match will know what to expect. We figured everyone would shoot Limited or Open in some fashion due to the round count then Dennis's entry showed up and out the window that went!! lol We also had several folks say they didn't show because they thought it was a Limited or Open only match. We really don't care what you shoot as long as it's legal in a USPSA match just know we're not going to recognize every division and class. Remember we're wanting this to be FUN. Competitive but FUN. Don't use any excuse not to come shoot this match. Last match we were picking up guys magazines off the ground and loading them so they'd have enough rounds to finish the stages. That Polish Plate Rack gave a few folks fits but I don't think it was so bad anyone won't come back because of it!!! lol I hope I've covered a lot questions. If I haven't Dennis schooled me on how to "subscribe" to a thread so follow this closer.

We're pretty easy going up here so don't be bashful with ideas or criticism we want this to be FUN and enjoyable.

Don't forget we're going to let our T-Shirt artist shoot free!!!! (FYI this is more of a plea!!! lol)

Jim

this is going down on my calendar - just hopefully not on the 22nd (anniversary) - but we need a date, time and who's hosting the carpool?

limited/open/prod/minor/major - Doesn't matter to me, I just wish I could safely dual wield for some of those stages!!

Jim, we need a contact person where somebody with a design for tshirts can get submit their creation. I can do that, or if you want to cut out the middleman, let me know where to forward anything. I have one pending design already.

something like this?

Scott and I were talking about the free entry to our t-shirt designer and we don't want to have to choose. If it's possible and I can sweet talk Dennis into it, we'd like to start some kind of poll and choose the design? Start the poll last week in September? Dennis?
