Okla. Secton Revolver and Single Stack Match

Exactly. I have a ss that I have only used at two matches.

Any chance of having this at a different time. There would probably be 8-10 more shooters.

This may be the only time we regular SS-shooters can feel like we have the more "modern" gun.

I'm going to practice really hard to try to move up to B-class because I don't think I can beat all the sandbRaggers in C.

For the right money, someone could have my D Classification in SS, I'm shooting the much sexier  revolver now.

I wish that the date was more flexible, but alas, no mater when we schedule these things, there is always a conflict with another match, or matches. We do the best we can. Pick a date and let the cards fall where they may. Last year we tried to hold this match in Nov. and if conflicted with deer season and another 3gun match somewhere.

Maybe we can get some discussion going before the end of the year about what seem like good dates to have our sectional matches so that we avoid most of the conflicts. it takes at least 90 days to put a decent match together, secure the date, get stages approved, and allow shooters to schedule.their matches, so we need to be talking about these between now and the end of the year. Especially if we're interested in seeing section matches in the earlier parts of the year.

I think it would be great if we could start out in 2014 with a pretty firm calendar of when our section matches will be so that we could plan for other major matches accordingly. but hey, I need another beer anyway.

Hey Guys and Gals, the time is closing in for you application to the Oklahoma Single Stack and Revolver Sectional match. Applications dated after this Friday will be charged the additional fees.

We have 9 stages approved by USPSA and are ready to go.

Get those applications in.

What if we held a OK Sectional Match and Nobody came?

Tomorrow we are two weeks out from the scheduled match and at this point, we've received 8 applications. That's not enough to set up a monthly match for let alone a level II sectional.

Bottom line is any applications received after Tuesday will not really allow enough time to get plaques built, prizes secured.

I know there is a lot of competition for you shooting time, but if we don't have at least 30 applications by next Tuesday, we'll cancel the match. Just FYI!

Ouch! We get 100+ at okcgc and can't get 30 to shoot a state match. We suck, including me!

FWIW there were 23 and 26 total Revo/SS shooters combined at area 3 & 4. Thats an Area championship match. Maybe 30 minimum is a little high for such small divisions. I think a lot of people are like me, I would love to come shoot the match but I lack any Revo/SS gear.

It's a timing deal.
I was planning on going & shooting single stack but the date conflicts with Fallen Brethren.
It also conflicts with the biggest monthly USPSA match in the state, OKCGC.
With these small divisions there's not going to be a big draw to begin with, much less the conflicting matches on that date.

I really wanted to shoot this match but with FB3G on the same date, it's not going to happen.
The last time I was down there (August monthly match), I asked why not have it on the regular monthly match date.
I was told "Because we don't want it on our monthly match day". So, I left it at that.

I think most folks are focused on Production Nationals in October and want to run the production guns till then. If this was in November after Nationals, I'd shoot it.

Well the time has come to make a descision about this match. We appreciate those who sent in their applications and those who called to say they were interested but couldn't attend because of other matches or work requirements. It appears that the timing was not meant to be this time, so we have concluded to cancel the match for Oct. 5th.

We will save the stages, and look at holding the match in the spring of next year at a time when there is less competition with other major matches and other activities.

Sorry Ray, I know you guys put a lot into this & I really appreciate the work you guys do.
Hopefully, I can make it to the rescheduled date to shoot SS & take JT's title.

Thanks, again to the entire crew & I'll see you guys on 3rd Sunday.

I think this is the best dammed Idea I've heard in a long time.
The Sectional Grand Pupah needs to get this up front and before the end of the year so that when Jan 1 rolls around there is a schedule. Not necessarily sealed in stone, but the major discussion is done.
