OKC Gun Club IPSC Rifle Range Closed

Hi Folks;

URGENT news: Until further notice, the rifle range of the north end of the Action Pistol range is CLOSED. Shooting any firearm on that range is prohibited, pending a safety evaluation.

We will advise everyone as soon as there is additional guidance.

I was wondering the same thing. Whatever it was it sucks big time!

I did a tour of that range with a member awhile back. There are some issues with that range that enhances ricochets. Not certain, but this might be the issue.

Probably the fact that the dirt has washed down hill exposing the sandstone. Shoot that and the bullet could go skipping half way to Burk's house.

This^^^ The range is built with the high point midway to the 200 yard berm. They tried shutting off half of it to get a better angle, but I couldn't see where that would help.

The club didn't email me. So I can only assume not all members are aware of it. I only got a message from the IPSC director not the shotgun or silhouette director. I'd hate to have a friend that doesn't shoot IPSC get kicked out of their club because their club sucks at communication.

only members have any reason to need that info. range issues could mean safety issues counld mean liabilities.
I dont want to make anything easier for anyone who does not hold the interests of the club foremost.
