Oh No...I just Got Another ACOG...

I wanted an ACOG for years...then I got one last week...Way Cool.

Then, last night I traded for another AR-15 with.....another ACOG...Now I have 2 of them...

The one I just got is a real small red dot ACOG It is model number TA44SR-10....It had never been mounted on a rifle...New in the box.

But, of course, it has a carry handle only mount. I just went through that with the other one. It cost me $90.00 for a mount for the flat top...I may just have to hold off for awhile for a flat top mount for this one...

$90 for the handle mount? what are they getting scarce or something?

i think id just buy an M4 blem upper from psa for $70, they have that sale right?

The ACOG comes with the carry handle mount built on it....Well, actually the base is drilled in 3 positions. To mount it on the carry handle...you just set it into the groves in the top of the handle and put the screw thru the handle and into one of the 3 tapped holes. That is how you adjust it forward to back.

To use the ACOG on a flat top you have to buy the mount. IT is just a flat mount with clamps on the side for the rail, and, a hole drilled in the middle of the flat part. The hole is counter-sunk on bottom. You put the screw thru the bottom and into the acog and then clamp the whole scope and mount into the rail..

Took this AR and this ACOG to the indoor range yesturday...It worked like a charm...but, the range is only 25 yards...

I will get it outdoors soon...

Hopoe this cleared up and mis-understandings about the mount system....and, the mount at ATP was $89.00 and tax.

Good Find Dave...Now if I was not broke...I would order one....

On this last one...I am kind of happy with it setting on the carry handle...It is so small, it almost looks like the whole field of view would be blocked by the front sight tower. And, I hate gas blocks....

I like to have the Iron sights just in case...and I don't like fold up front sights...

You will have to shoot the rifle to see what I mean...

We go to the range this week, I will bring it.
