It is a little known fact that "Three 6 Mafia" was originally "Thirty Ought 6 Mafia," a reference to the prevalence of the M1 Garand on the streets of Memphis. After gaining regional attention with hit tracks "Enbloc Pimpin," "Suck My Op Rod," and "Blam Blam PING," they switched to their current name on advice of their record company for broader national appeal.
