I do not imagine that it really comes as a surprise that it happened , this mans has no respect for the law in this nation and thinks he is above it as is evidenced by his tenure in the oval office . He behaves more as a dictator than as President, I think if he gets a second term we are in dire straits. Congress needs to act now. This guy makes Nixon look like a piker.

Whitehouse grants executive privilege over fast and furious

I've been following this today and I've got to say what I've been saying all along. Obama had full knowledge and gave his blessing. Hell he probably had a hand in hatching the plan in the first place.

I'm a bit older than a lot of you here and trust me, this is bigger than Watergate ever thought about being. Watergate really amounted to just an office break-in for campaign documents.
Untold numbers of people south of the border died because of this deal. It will be interesting to see what transpires. Extradition to Mexico anybody?

I agree I have been following this since Michale Bane was essentially the only one that was really covering it in the media. President Obama has managed to do two things in his tenure as president which one would imagine are hard to do. He has managed to have the most socialist and worst presidency for the nation and the economy since FDR. He also has also managed to have the most corrupt presidency since the Harding administration. That's no small feat. Harding's presidency was really corrupt.

He must go and is a prime candidate for impeachment if there ever was one. I know he will not be impeached but he should be what he has done since he has been in office is treason.

I agree with Scott. Watergate wouldn't be a that big a deal now days with all the other elephant dung that goes on. What really gets me is that Felipe Calderón Prez of Mexico liked that we wouldn't be sending the kids home to him but I haven't heard him say elephant dung about all his people that were gunned down with those guns

Doesn't matter when he found out about it at all. If he's covered any of it up, he's in deep.

They all be worse than sorry. I would be worried someone was afraid things I know could hurt them..., you know?

I want the sorry idiot out of office as bad as anybody, but I do have to post the history of modern Presidents that have used Executive Privilege in the past.
I think most Americans according to the latest poll want him out of office. IMHO he is the most dangerous president in history to take away our constitutional privleges.
the 2nd Ammendment has been the focus of his undercover work starting before his innaguration when he made statements referring to starting gun control. His appointments of Janet Neapolitano, and Eric Holder prove his intent to circumnavigate the constitution by starting fast and furious.
Yet he panders to the Mexican voters by issuing an executive order to pardon those that have benefitted by the sins of their parents that are illegal immigrants.
Guess what! Fast and fourious targeted Mexican citizens. Allow the flow of guns illegally into mexico for the drug cartels, and hundreds of Mexicans are killed as well as American Border Agents.
The main stream media finally gave a 30 second report on the congressional investigation a couple of days ago. The majority of Americans have no clue what happened including the Hispanic community.

President George H.W. Bush:1
President Bill Clinton:14
President George W. Bush: 6

Presidents have the right to invoke executive privilege to preserve the confidentiality of information and documents in the face of legislative inquiries.
Presidents have asserted that privilege 25 times since 1980
