When I first heard of an EO regarding medical information being released for a background check, I did not understand how this could be
done without violating the HIPPA law. After reading the list, I found the answer:
2. "Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system."
I found this one interesting:
3. "Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system." Hmmmm.....??

"Assault rifles" are select-fire. "Assault weapons" are guns that look scary.
This article helped me understand why AR15s are being lumped in with "Assault Weapons", which is a term the anti-gun lobby
came up with & sold to the American public.
"Because assault rifles were already banned, and because an outright ban on semi-automatic weapons wasn't considered politically feasible, the AWB would define assault weapons as semi-automatic firearms that shared too many cosmetic features with their fully automatic counterparts."

so what happens when vets with ptsd cant buy a gun because they rule everything as a mental health concern. Or when you run a stop sign and say so you must be trying to commit suicide and therefore mentally ill. Mental health checks will not make guns illegal it will just make everyone unable to have them. Also this jsut makes anyone who would seek counselling or refill their meds unlikely to seek help as it as they would be punished.
