I'm watching American Rifleman on my DVR and they are covering an NRA National Defense Match. I've never heard of them. They said it's a beginner type deal. Anybody shot one?

I googled this and it appears they do 2 different matches, one for beginner (basic) and another for advanced shooters. According to the web site they have not set dates for this year yet. For both the basic and advanced match it says Oct TBA. It also appears that they will be held at the Peacemaker National Training Center in West Virgina

I saw that. Based on the coverage on American rifleman TV it looked like IPSC Rifle kinda. But I couldn't find much info about it at all.
