Ok, newbe question. Are 48's really that common in 3gun or are they a luxury? Just starting out and didn't know if this is a must have or something to get if I get hooked?

Get one . You'll be glad you did . It's definitely something to have in the bag .

I'm a 3Gun newbie and I have two. I've seen them at every local match I've been to. They come in handy especially when the round count is in the high 20s and you miss a lot like I do.
