i always get put down by every job i apply for related to aviation maint. All because the lack of experience. Companies now a days just dont want to invest in some one without experience. Whats going on with this???

When you have 500 applicants for 1 entry level job, then you can pick someone who has been doing the work for 10 years but is willing to take a huge pay cut just to get work.

I see the same - I keep applying to federal gov't attorney jobs, that are marked as entry level (for an attorney) and they get snapped up by folks with 20+ years as a federal lawyer, I guess just to keep their retirement. Last two I applied for at SPAWAR supposedly had over 300 qualified applicants each - and these are very very specific skillset and experience positions.

If you're willing to sling fries or move boxes at HomeLowes, or do non-medical health care, there are jobs.

If I didn't have a family, I'd be in the middle east as a contractor, or North Dakota doing fracking.

I have a buddy from California went up to North Dakota and runs a truck repair shop bringing home 12k a month. He keeps telling me to come up, they are begging for people who want to work hard and make a ton of money. He'll be debt free this year and is putting away a lot of money.

Mike id gladly move to Kuwait City, but contract house said same thing about experience.
Chris ive seen only one problem with the Oil field $$, no place to actually live in.

He did tell me about that. He says they are building apartments as quickly as possible but still not enough. They also passed some law saying people couldn't stay in little trailers any longer, had to live in a built dwelling. I may go up and check it out but haven't decided yet.

i keep throwing resumes out, even for jobs i know im under qualified for just to do it. Maybe some one will notice and just give me a chance. Only a handful of firearms left that i havent sold yet. It hurts when you have to sell off rifles that have sentimental value.

Thats a Subject i rather not got into too much detail into

but heres over view worked there from 2008 to 2012 stuck around till the flight line jobs were available. had previous experience on aircraft. I was always bypassed for others with NO experience. so i stuck around another 2yrs to see if it was BS. IT WAS BS, so i said F this im OUT, Never looked back. Now im alot more healthy, on less medications. But alot more poor money wise. Was tired of sacrificing my Health for a job i didnt enjoy.
