Good for him!!! Hopefully, he and his siblings are not traumitized by this event. It is surprising that a 14 year old was able to act so swiftly and decisively.

Great outcome to a bad situation. Glad all the kids are safe.

The 14 year old kid must have had significant training on how to handle firearms and defend himself. I do wonder how the firearm was stored. I would think somebody that would put the thought and effort into training their 14 year old would also have the smarts to keep the defense firearm in a quick access pistol safe or something similar so that the younger kids couldn't get unauthorized access to it.

I'm Just hopping for the best. Though it looks like the news agency was trying to put a negetive spin on it.

My sons grew up loading and shooting guns way before they were teens. They knew what a bullet did to flesh and organs. That might sound crude, but there is no better teacher than a .44 mag shot into a 10lb carp, or a 30.06 Hp turning the guts of a deer into jelly.
I suspect this family might have done this same type of training with their kids.

Score one for the good guys. I'm impressed the kid was able to handle that at 14. I try to remember what I was like at 14 and probably would have just stood their like a slack jawed idiot and let the guy shoot me.
