I have a Spikes lower on the way, a mil spec buffer tube (spring and buffer), and a Rock River parts kit ready to install on the lower. I have a standard stock from another AR to use. Now for the upper. I would like to build something a little different so I thinking on the following:

White Oak Armament SPECIAL PURPOSE RIFLE (SPR) Match Barrel and headspaced bolt
18 inch 1-7 twist Match Grade Stainless Steel barrel
• Chambered to give excellent performance and reliability with a wide variety of ammo
• Light weight contour ( total weight of 41 ounces )
• 1/2x28 threaded muzzle to accept standard .223 flash hider or muzzle brake
• Choice of Rifle or Mid-Length gas system
• Choice of Standard or M-4 Ramped Barrel extensions
A4 Flat Top Rec. m4 feed ramps
Upper parts kit
Bolt carrier and key
Charging handle
Standard A2 flash hider

Next wiil come the hand guard, which I am trying to make my mind up on it.

What will I need to install the barrel. tools, parts, etc,

Thanks

Assortment of Punches (rollpin and regular), barrel nut wrench (dpms ar-15 mutitool will make installing other components like flash hider and buttstock nut easier), upper receiver action block, and also helpful to have a magazine well action block too. And only other part I don't see listed is your gas block and gastube roll pin.

Sounds like a nice rifle!!! What are you planning to use it for? 3 Gun??? I recommend the lightest and longest handguard you can find. LOKI makes one that is 15" adn eally light weight. The other option I woudl suggest would be a PRI carbon FIber Handguard.

Get the rifle length gas system on the barrel, I'd suggest a VTAC forend, I like it mucho, and if you've got to have rails all over the place you can add them where you want them.

Tools listed above are good, take the barrel nut to hand tight and then to the next hole, that's worked well for me.
